What's crazy is that these kids are still first years in highschool and, according to the whole premise of the show, this is the story of how Deku becomes the greatest hero ever. But he's already fighting the heir of AFO in an all out heroes vs villains war. There could always be some lame cop-out finish where AFO escapes in the end, or even worse, there's a typical shonen "that villain you just defeated was bad, but HERE'S AN EVEN WORSE ONE" bullshit, but at this point it's like, how can they escalate things further beyond what we're already getting without the whole series becoming a slog and Naruto'esk "everyone has god-like powers" by the end?

This is like History's strongest Disciple Kenichi, but sped up X10. In that series, the kids grew stupidly quickly over the course of like, a year and a half, but by the end of it, were still no match for the masters, whom were all adults, and CERTAINLY no match for the Grandmaster. The series had to do some super time-skipped epilogue to hint that the protagonist eventually met his goal.

These fuckers in Academia are literally starting to eclipse some grown-ass adult superheroes/villains with their powers while still 15 or whatever. IF they continue to grow at this rate, they'll be 10X anyone before them by the time they're 30.

I get it, Japan. The average citizen's life is over by 20. These kids have to peak in potential by the time they're done with high school because you need to keep pushing the shonen narrative that you need to enjoy and buy this shit NOW because you'll be too busy working towards suicide as a salaryman by the time you hit University, but DAMN. Slow down a LITTLE bit.

In fairness they do try to explain this in the Manga with how powers have been evolving, so newer generations are showing stronger and stranger powers than the older ones. But yah, its a trope, I agree, in japan it really is "School is the best years of your life and after that shit goes downhill quick". Yay Japan killing their people with extreme work problems \o/

So, what're the odds they just straight kill off Endeavor then retreat because Shig is too fucked up? My guess is pretty high TBH, idk how he'd "recover" from this with his dirty laundry aired everywhere, he's either ruined as a hero or dead.

So, you expect their society to take the word of a villain participating in what is likely the world's biggest villain attack in the history of what we know within the series?

Because this is just Dabi's flavor of hypocrisy that Toga exhibited in that they're all just a sad, misunderstood lot that are only doing the things they do because the rest of the world made them. Dabi had a bad father? Why yes, let's murder people because of it! Heroing != Parenting, and while Endeavor may have striven to be #1, it also wasn't solely for fame.

That said, Endeavor also didn't inherit the #1 spot under the best of circumstances. To say it really matters in the grand scheme is also rather pointless since big heroes are more about their agencies and the related work they do. Nothing about his performance against the Nomu or Shigaraki would also imply he is unworthy to continue heroing. He'd probably even pass Stain's twisted litmus test.

Now, could he die? I suppose so. We also thought All Might was going to die against AFO. In comparison, however, I think him living would be better for the narrative since the groundwork for redemption has been laid out for a while now.

If he's going to survive, I doubt he'll be doing anything but being a father from this point on. I see this man wheelchair bound or forcibly retired from injury. I see a lot of the top heroes going down after this is all said and done.

This series has power creep to the max, and we're going to be seeing a bunch of high schoolers as the defenders of the planet yet again, but its Japan, so it is what it is. Just keep making the story and art good and I'll forgive the usual high-schooler-is-all-powerful trope because yeah, apparently it is a miserable, squalid existence in Japan once you get your cap and gown, lol.

Did you miss that hero Killer character and his manifesto a while back? I think it has a good chance of effecting public opinion. Endeavor has always been less "likeable" than All Might and frankly It would not surprise me if the public turned on him after learning this. This isn't excusing the Villains actions but it would still definitely put Endeavor under an uncomfortable microscope from the public.

Who knows, he could give an impassioned speech to the public and go about business as usual, but frankly, i think he's either going to die or have his reputation garnished terribly because regardless of what this villain has done, I think a lot of the "public" will believe his story consider, as i mentioned above, Endeavor has never really been a well of charisma.

He's already pretty banged up, maybe he's saved by Shoto and we get some character arc going?

The reason I think he's going to die is because he's already started to "Turn things around" and wanting to be a better person and father, just has the perfect hallmarks of tragedy.
