Fuck yeah can't wait! World Hero's Mission is up for preorder on the Crunchyroll website if anyone wants it on DVD/Bluray.

I almost forgot that Funimation is rebranding to Crunchyroll. Not sure why they went with Crunchyroll instead of moving over to Funimation.
Think it was because CR/Sony bought them.
Though, the deal is having some consequences in the VO scene as now they're deliberately fishing for non-union talent out of TX while simultaneously gutting WFH work. Perhaps a non-issue for those who don't give a shit about dubs, but with the anime industry outpacing the movie industry in profits now, I'd argue dub quality is more important than ever.
Yeah I agree with your assessment on the quality piece. Anime is growing rapidly and they need to keep up with it. It mostly just surprised me because my perception was that Funimation was much larger and more well known than Crunchyroll. I heard of crunchyroll only as a streaming platform but Funimation has produced and distributed countless anime as well as having a huge online store and streaming service. But that was just my impression which very well could have been off. I just never saw Crunchyroll at the beginning or ending credits for a show or movie before.
And a lot of veteran voice talent are outright refusing to do any more anime gigs. The pay and work conditions are pure shit and they're pretty much done with it. They also gave the big FU to Anime Expo in Los Angeles and are having their own event across town in Pasadena the same weekend. Unless previously contracted, they all won't be at Anime Expo.
But they do say Netflix gigs are the some of the best in the industry. But who knows if that will change with Netflix profits down but revenue still high thanks to increase in sub fees.
I feel like it is definitely a perception thing. My understanding is Funimation doesn't produce any anime, they just dub it and distribute it outside of Japan. As log as Crunchyroll has been a service it's been the go-to for quality legitimate subs (re: not fan-subs), and while I'm absolutely not trying to snub English VAs as a whole, English dubs have not captured the true feel of the original voice acting the majority of the time for me. So I feel like people that prefer subs in general have always gravitated towards Crunchyroll for the most part; myself included.
All that being said: that's definitely my perception, so it could easily be off too.
Double post, but the other totally completely unrelated reason I'm glad they're consolidating under Crunchyroll and not Funimation is that Funimation's UI's on their streaming app/the website are absolute dogshit. They're not quite Amazon Prime bad, but they're not far off either.
Your perception is correct.

Fucking finally.
Now seems like the perfect time to cut to the B-Team fighting Fire-Bro.
Anyone else know there was a new season out?
Lol I'm deadass.
I always just wait until the season is over to watch.
