And yet again my motivation to read the manga is pushed back some more. I'll get there eventually, but I think the anime might get there first at this rate.

Nah, I don’t think the anime will catch up any time soon. There is a LOT of content between where the anime stopped and where the manga currently is. Which is great because the anime shouldn’t be slow paced and full of filler at all. But it does mean that the show will only ever catch up should it keep airing long after the manga eventually finishes

Not to take my comment too seriously but that's good, I will eventually read it but I feel like I get more from watching the anime fresh than taking an Attack on Titans route with it.
