Title says it all... Bachelor party in April.
Staying at the Venetian hotel with 12 buddies.
I've done the standard Google searches but would appreciate first hand accounts. Good ideas, and bad.
Thanks!

I've done at least 8 bachelor parties in Vegas; I think I've also slept a grand total of about 12 hours during those 8 parties in aggregate. There's a million ways to slice it depending on your budget. I would say Spearmint Rhino for one of the best strip club experiences in the U.S. and MGM's Wet Republic for day drinking / pool activity. I can't recommend the latter enough; they bring in great DJs and the girls are just unbelievable. If you do Wet Republic, make sure you pay up and get a VIP reservation of some sort; a bunch of dudes will never get in otherwise. That dynamic applies to most of Vegas that isn't gambling related; if you want to go to a club together, you're going to have to get a table unless you're at a shithole like Camelot.
Venetian and Palazzo are my favorite places to stay. Truly nice rooms.
See the Bellagio Fountain - during the day and night. See the Mirage Volcano show at night.
Play Craps at Harrah's and do the $1 bet. If, in a single turn, you hit all the winnable numbers, you'd win $1000. Happened on one my trips.
That's all I got so far. :D Grab huge ass margaritas and walk around with them, 'cause ya can. Oh, collect all the porn cards. You'll understand when ya get there. Have fun!!!
Go to Retox. Stay at the Wynn or at least eat there.
If you're going big, be prepared for the bill.
Sit with your friends while they play blackjack and mooch free drinks. Tip well. Finding girls to party with for a group of 12 is a tall order unless you're paying.
You should pay.
Don't buy drugs outside. Don't pick up hookers outside. Basically don't do ANYTHING stupid in public. The cops will shit you out. Save your dumbassery for in a club or a room.
Go shooting in the desert.
Go drive out into the desert at night at least once. It's fucking awesome.
Thanks guys!
This is surprisingly fun. I do this a lot with a friend that comes to visit every so often with a friend that's big into MtG, then we trade to complete our collections. He uses his cards as placeholders for his decks.
Spoiler: show
But, honestly, Vegas is a place you don't need recommendations to have a decent time, depending on what you like. If it's the standard gambling, strip clubs, or night clubs you want, anything on the strip is pretty good and it's really just down to personal preference and/or who they have there at the time. All the restaraunts/buffets are fine, too; I've yet to find one that is leagues above others in the same price range.
If you want to know more stuff outside the strip, I can give some suggestions based on what you're looking for.
If there's 12 of you, and you need to take a cab anywhere, it's probably cheaper to take a limo than three cabs.
If you haven't been to Vegas before, make sure you just walk up and down the strip a bit at night. It's an experience unlike anything else.
Nobody has recommended the Fremont Street Experience yet - which is a $20 cab ride away from the strip. It's a throwback to old Vegas, and you can do just about anything you can on the strip for about half the price. The roof panorama shows (every hour on the hour at night) are the second best free show in Vegas. (The Bellagio fountain is the best, IMHO, but someone already mentioned that).
We turned this into a drinking game. Walk from one casino to the next on the strip, collecting all the cards you could. Once you get to the next bar, compare cards. If I had three Ashleys and you only had two, you drink. Go through all your cards, drinking for each different one. Cards with two girls on them count double.Originally Posted by Airenn
There is some solid advice in this thread.
I will absolutely echo that if you plan on going to a pool, especially if its a friday or saturday you HAVE to spring for a cabana or two. There is no other way your group will be able to stay together or even have a place to hang out that is not in the shallow end of a pool. You won't find a single pair of lounge chairs together let alone 12 unless you are out there the minute it opens. On the otherhand you spring for some cabanas and you will have waitresses, a safe for your shit, a place to sit out of the sun, some lounge chairs in the sun, etc.
Strip club wise The Spearmint Rhino is the quintessential experience. They will have something for everyone, its clean, drinks are expensive, lap dances are 20 bones etc but its not that "exciting". If you are looking for a fun way to end the night, i suggest little darlings which is full nude but serves no booze. Go there at like 3am and the girls will take good care of you, they arent even ugly. I mean some are but there will be like 50 working and a handful will be gorgeous. Also they will think you are locals, no tourists go there. Its just great. But also awful.
Gambling wise, Craps is the fucking best. Especially when you are playing with friends because you will generally be making the same bets.It also works out that a single craps table holds 12 players.
And yea you guys will be taking limos everywhere. A limo will take you pretty much anywhere for 50 bones + tip
You wont get into any night clubs with 12 dudes unless you have buy a table or two. Night clubs are generally lame anyway unless you are an arab, wow the browns love that shit with their circa 2006 "going out shirts". Just skip it all together.
Some people go to LV and do things like indoor sky diving, and gun ranges, and off roading, and helicopter tours. All that shit is there. I have never done that shit because I only drink, gamble, and go to strip clubs like any real man.
some restaurants I fuck with hard that you may consider fucking with
Bellagio breakfast buffet
Gordon Ramsey Burgr
otherwise find one nice restaurant if you want to treat the groom to something dope. Otherwise just do fast food or takeout. I mean you are in Las Vegas. There are dice to throw, and drinks to drink, and titties to throw crumpled up dollars at. Who has time for anything else?
Though I live in Vegas, I don't really do any of the Vegasy stuff and probably nothing that a bachelor party would be interested in (being a girl, too...)
Can confirm Fremont Street is great for people watching but I can't say I was impressed by the "experience" there. Though you can zipline above the entire thing if you're feeling that. Seeing the Bellagio fountain is pretty much a must, it's right there on the strip and it's a show every 15 - 30 mins so it's hard to miss anyway. If you like shows, there's plenty of showgirl-type stuff, there's also Zombie Burlesque which I hear is awesome and don't forget the many Cirque du Soleil shows. You can find cheaper tickets sometimes at official discount ticket booths that are peppered throughout the Strip.
I can second that Burgr is a fantastic restaurant, moderately priced and delicious, but the wait times are generally crazy. If you like a ramen bar, Jinya (a bit off the strip but still close) is where you want to go. It is popular but doesn't have such crazy wait times as Burgr, has a large seating area and the food is never a letdown. No idea about the drinks but it's a Japanese bar so they have plenty of them at least. There's an awesome-looking dinner show place called Rose. Rabbit. Lie at the Cosmo, never had a chance to go but should provide a unique experience.
Aside from that I can only recommend from first-hand experience the tamer stuff. Mandalay Bay Aquarium is pretty cool, it's nothing you haven't seen before if you've ever been to any large aquarium but it's still a good experience. There are a couple interesting museums, notably the Neon Sign museum, but you have to be toured through it by a guide. If you're looking for greenery or picnic/BBQ areas to enjoy the fantastic sunny and warm weather here, which I am always in search of because I'm a northeastern gal, there are wetlands near the desert that are absolutely awesome, Springs Preserve closer to the strip is a botanical garden with nature trails, and Floyd Lamb Park with its trees, ponds, free-roaming rabbits, geese and peacocks puts to shame even the best parks I've seen back at home. However, while it's the best outdoor experience you'll get, it's pretty far away and if you're cabbing everywhere it might be nigh impossible to get there.
And there is always a reddit post that lists everything notable that's going on in Vegas that week. Worth checking out to see if there's anything happening you want to catch.
do AT LEAST one breakfast buffet! Also try to do Hash House a GoGo (mostly breakfast foods but I think they have other options) - it's expensive but DELICIOUS and HUGE portions. As a joke restaurant try Dick's Last Resort. We have both these in SD but there's no point going twice to Dick's. (haaa haaa)
Man I haven't been to Vegas in too long.
Nope. If you're paying to get in, they know you aren't a local. The girls are mediocre, but I haven't really been there prime time, only 7pm and earlier. But still, they're known as the good club rejects. If you want full nude clubs, go to Palomino. Plus they serve alcohol.
Take a day trip out to the Moonlight Bunny Ranch, ask for Air Force Amy. Sure, your dick will fall off, but it's a small price to pay.
I went in 2009 and at the time airfare and hotel was cheaper downtown than the strip so that's what we did. While it saved money we should have sprung for the strip. Downtown was cool though. The weekend we were there was a throwback 60's theme and as Byrd said the panorama shows are cool. The Golden Nugget actually had a decent night club too! Not sure if doing the night clubs is still hot there (it's dead in Michigan). My buddy got tricked about going to a "hot party with tons of girls and taking a limo there" by a couple of dbags when we were at Jet in MGM. Was a couple of guys promoting the strip club really. I was there for four nights and five days and I only gambled for maybe two hours player holdem at Binions.
And yes a 1000x on craps. I don't gamble extensively because I'm not an idiot, but I will always spend a few hours at the craps table over a weekend; you can last forever if you bet conservatively with average luck. It's also social and fun; half the one-night stands I've had in Vegas have been sourced from the craps table.
