It just feels like pure luck whether we burst through WHM heals or not. Maybe I can make enough time with Mythril Tempest, Brutal Swing, or christ using the drag from Holmgang.
Even then after all that it leads can be flipped around so easily by waiting for culling time and coming after me because they increased Heavy Medal. I guess I can just never let myself go above 6 stacks now? Maybe I just need to accept I fucking hate these changes and move on.
make sure your execution rotation is optimal and make sure your teammates are syncing their burst with yours. other than that you aren't gonna do much to a healer who has a brain.
I just had a healer who told me I should have used Holmgang and run away when I had multiple medal stacks, so I think the biggest issue is finding teammates in solo queue who aren't borderline retarded.
borderline is being nice
I really like using the crates to give myself Maim and build two stacks so I can double cleave off the bat and no one ever understands what I mean, or outright tells me just to use Infuriate, but no matter how I time it, it seems like I have to at least use Raw Intuition and usually Vengeance as well to double cleave that way.
i wouldn't do anything off the bat myself because you're just eating into shields. and you won't even have slash debuff up if you try to ham right away. i also prefer to give a bit off leeway time to see what they are gonna do. if you just try to drop everything right away you can easily just get slept and then reslept after you purify. it's easy to fall prey to cc by being impatient.
i build the two stacks, get slash debuff up, berserk to hit #5 and go from there. if you are willing to be more patient, which just depends on your team's strategy, you can even get path up right after you get eye up and THEN try to execute, as the enemy healer will have less juice trying to cure himself.
well yeah off the bat I mean after I land two more hits and use Berserk. I was unaware storms reduced heal potency though, wish I knew that.
sch feels op as shit now with the interrupt changes. and you can CC people off the edge with their pvp skill. i've seen people wiff at me for the full duration of the healer pvp skill where you dodge all day while fairy is healing me.
that requires the opposing team to be at the strips to do that. meanwhile sch gets completely shut down by 1 job, has the least amount of CCs going for it (actually it might be tied with AST but mobile shields and cards like Bole are ridiculous) and the fact that when you spawn in, you have to spend time casting your fairy makes SCH a very unattractive choice compared to the others.
mmm, if the sch is any good they'd never get shut out by mnk alone. but it is certainly a nuisance having to manage your stacks. i do think their lack of CC's hurts but with the new changes they can pretty much freecast forever.
Gotta remember its solo queue most likely. I still see healers get shutout by a WAR alone lol. On a side note, fuck MNK.
I haven't had the time to PVP post-changes, but how much of a difference maker are the interrupt changes? Eg. Are we able to cast no prob through most of someone's combos as long as high-pot offGCDs aren't used? The interrupt threshold is HP based last I checked so I presume stacking VIT matters even more now than prior.
yup.
go full vit as a caster and sit and laugh as people put up useless attacks against you
If you're SCH, you can do surecast+adlo -> adlo adlo adlo etc. and you won't get interrupted by anything but stun or silence.
The switch to %dmg for interrupt gives a huge bonus to shielded casting. I haven't done Seal Rock, but does the interrupt change also apply to claiming nodes?
The match-making in solo queue is absolute shit. I got someone who was a first timer in my silver promo because the game uses an aggregate party rating system rather than trying to find individuals of similar ratings.
RIP this shit actually being competitive. It literally comes down to your role/how lucky you get in yolo queue vs. others.
Ugg I suck at PVP but wanted to try it and felt really bad for my team when I am still learning. Needs a noobs bracket.
Queue with a friend for 8v8 even if you're just learning the ropes. I don't find it particularly fun solo but its just fun times with a friend. I'm hoping they'll let us queue with more than 1 in the future for 8s. Had to leave out a few people whom I played frontline with.
yeah just do the 8v8 to learn. also i agree, i don't find solo queue all that fun
yep. seal rock on primal is starting to get more frequent matches again and queues are rising for the feast. something needs to be done with the matchmaking system or this won't end well for the feast.
