To be fair, I had to regear for PIE and put points in Mana Draw because I was frequently running out of MP. (This was right after Feast release.)

MP is never an issue in Seal Rock but is a big problem in Feast if you aren't dying; big enough to require respec.

I was ranked the first day the rankings came out, then fell off because of work. Will have to grind when I get home tomorrow.

I play SMN and my mind keeps wanting to tell me to change to a Crit/Spell Speed set because DoTs, but I don't know the stat weights for DoTs comparing det to spell speed. Aggrivating.

crit/det is > crit/ss because you want burst to have max impact, whereas if you go ss you are trying to play a style where you need all your dot durations to be realized. and of course that's not happening in a game where you can purify yourself. IIRC det is weighted higher than SS anyway.

When I did PvP I favored Crit/SS over Crit/Det (for all jobs) based on the idea that hitting an itty bitty bit harder will almost never mean the difference between killing someone and not killing them, but getting an extra GCD off before their healer can get to them will.

I'd take SS over, say, ACC or Parry, but I think when you take into account all the +damage dealt and +damage taken multipliers in play, DET scales up better than SS (due to the very limited number of +speed multipliers).

honestly the big thing one needs to take into consideration is the metagame of this mode. feast is almost exclusively about which team bursts the best. so for a class whose burst is entirely based on potency rather than spell speed, it becomes pretty binary.

I bring up spell speed for SMN because it's only through spread DoTs (bane or hard-casted) that I've been able to beat Rum Raisin on Primal data center. I just didn't know if spell speed is weighted higher than determination, and it looks like stat weight information is general, for all abilities used, than DoTs specifically. But I'm not a math person and can't figure it out myself. Crit/Det it is!
