The taxi driver who drove the man and two other suspects to the airport in Brussels told investigators the location where he picked up the three men, prompting authorities to conduct a raid following the attacks, according to U.S. officials briefed on the investigation. The driver recognized the men in surveillance images, according to two of the officials. The driver also told investigators some of the men would not let him handle their suitcases, one of the U.S. officials said. The taxi driver told investigators that not all of the luggage the men tried to take with them fit in the taxi, so they left some if it behind at the residence that was later raided, according to the Belgian newspaper HLN. That's why a bomb was found at the residence, the newspaper said.
mfw they cant fit all your bombs in the taxi
Because they're big.

A senior U.S. intelligence officer likened the Belgian security forces to “children.
“Even with the EU in general, there’s an infiltration of jihadists that’s been happening for two decades. And now they’re just starting to work on this. When we have to contact these people or send our guys over to talk to them, we’re essentially talking with people who are—I’m just going to put it bluntly—children. These are not pro-active, they’re don’t know what’s going on. They’re in such denial. It’s such a frightening thing to admit their country is being taken over.”
They've been relatively peaceful for so long, with countries like America doing the heavy lifting around the world, it's not surprising to find them complacent in their security. Wonder how many more European countries need to be attacked before they all look like mini-america with their security.
Right. The problem is that they had so much peace, not that they refused to acknowledge that Islam is an invasive ideological threat. The problem is complacency, not that they allowed insular, barbaric societies to set up camp in the middle of their nation for decades. Sarcasm aside, I think we're already seeing people start to realize what's going on. Unfortunately, when people react to something they weren't expecting, they tend to overreact. That's why there's so many nationalistic, super conservative groups popping up in Europe.
It's a very European problem to be complacent.
I remember learning of WWI/WWII history, and learning that "mistakes of the past repeat yadayada" and that appeasement was the form of governmental choices made leading to Hitlers rise to power. It would never be repeated again because surely Europe would never allow itself to make those same mistakes.
I can attest to them being children though. The only foreign intelligence service who I would personally throw my hat behind on this topic is Sweden.
Even then, overseas, I'd get briefs from these (and other) guys and wonder how many people had to die before you decided someone was bad. They'd share targets and we'd hit them immediately, that way they don't kill anyone or do muj shit and we can just ask them the questions instead.
Plus SAAB is Swedish, SAAB manufactures the M3 Carl Gustav Recoilless Rifle, the greatest thing to ever be created.
Flown through this place before. Hits pretty close.
They'll rebound. Amazing city and cool as people.

Middle guy was deported by Turkey in 2015 to the Netherlands who in turn released him as they couldn't prove Turkey's claim to his terrorism link.
Curious how Turkey had enough info for deportation but Netherlands didn't. Still stand by my comment that peace has made them complacent.
Don't think you guys ever talked about this, but this is what the actual target was meant to be apparently.
Here are the links.

Which says that Germany on high alert and is expecting an imminent terrorist attack on a Nuclear Facility, with Berlin being a possible target.
are you suggesting we shouldn't let our reaction to terrorist strikes be dictated by 4chan and fox news
I really don't see a terrorist attack on a nuclear plant being that big of a problem. They won't get deep enough to really cause much of an issue, and they won't get that many people. The subway/airport sites seem like way better targets for their limited means.
If people were intelligent about nuclear power plants we'd actually be building them instead of being bullied by soccer moms and liberals.
A nuclear power plant security guard was shot and killed in his home this week. Whomever killed him also stole his security pass. The pass has since been deactivated. He was working for a US-based security firm called G4S. No further information besides his name have been released.
