Legit, if you have ANY interest in playing this game, now is the time. The free 10-draws (70 draws worth) is monumental and hasn't happened since this time last year.

If you want to start playing, and are willing to spend money, you may want to consider waiting until the 70 draws are over, and then spend $20-$30 to buy an account with good and preferably limited rolls. The game allows you to directly pick characters if you spend money (~$28 for 1 pick and 10 rolls), but you cannot pick limited characters in such a way, and some of them are very good. Rerollers are going to go nuts, and you can get some fantastic accounts for only $20-30.

I wish I had gotten this advice when I first started. While I did get some decent rolls on my own account, several limited characters still elude me, and there's no way to get them outside of being incredibly lucky, saving 6-8 months of in-game currency, or dropping ~$900 each. There are quite a few good limited characters, so even if you're willing to save 6-8 months for one, it's a huge leg up to start off with a few.

EDIT: Just adding that buying accounts is pretty safe, especially newbie accounts. There are people who reroll and then offer large selections of accounts for sale. https://www.reddit.com/r/GranblueTrades/

Currently rank 17 as a class 5 dragoon. Suppose I could use a crew invite if room. Otherwise, not entirely sure what I should be farming if not just spamming through the story as I can.

Got an Ukonvasara and Lady Gray from my first pull. Yay?

If that was the starter island pull, then I believe she's one of the set characters that pull can roll. She's an older character, and is a 5*, so she's solid, but takes a lot of exp to get to 100 and be at full potential. Also, all characters are attached to a weapon, so if you roll what we call a 'character weapon', then that character joins your party. There are non-character weapons too, and it's best to leave any gatcha rolls that are SR or better in your crate as they will never expire and won't take up inventory. You want to save them there unless you need to use them in your starting grids, as they can break down into valuable resources for later weapon upgrades, but that's a long ways into the game.
