show adapts the hell out of the source material, adds depth to near every character, changes up the storyline considerably, and is much funnier. comics are filled to the brim with tryhard edgy teenage boy sensibilities, don't say nearly as much and don't say it as interestingly.

Yeah, every time I read up on certain plot points and character arcs of the comic I'm usually telling myself that I'm glad the show took an alternate route.

Dunno if people keep up with the goings on around The Boys, but Antony Star got a 12 month suspended prison sentence for attacking a chef at a bar:

Basically, he doesn't have to serve it as long as he doesn't commit any crimes in the next two years. When you read what happens, definitely sounds like he's method acting Homelander too hard.
