season was def something of a set-up for the big end game of season 5 but was an enjoyable ride getting there. p uneven but some moments like Hughie's dad and Homelander going home were absolutely mint and it was prolly the strongest finale of any season except for maybe 2.
THOUGHTS
Erin Moriarty gave her best acting performance playing the shapeshifter, wish that villain had gotten more screentime. the line Starlight gives killing her was so fuckin cringe tho lmao
Starlight blaming Hughie for being sexually assaulted again was p dumb, was exactly like Buffy getting mad at Riley for Faith doing the same thing. writers mentality still stuck in the 90s when it comes to male sexual assault. least she got over it right quick.
the Deep's descent into absolute villainy was mint, kinda mirrored A-Train's arc in that these initial pieces of shit underwent extensive suffering that made them reevaluate their whole lives but Deep only went further down while A Train redeemed himself. never took real accountability, never tried to be better.
Emmy for Starr or death to the deep state
Butcher getting to his genocidal comics self was real well done. a repentant Neuman getting Silent Hill'd good foretelling of what's comin.
Ryan and Kimiko were heartbreakers. my girl finally talks but at what cost. and Ryan's life is the most fucked up shit at this point. think he's gotta be the one to kill Homelander in the end despite the Grace murder, but also fuck ya on Soldier Boy returning next season.
Sage reveal was perfect. everyone wondering what her true motives were all along, was she sabotaging the Seven for some moral reason, but nah she's a sociopath pinning still living butterflies to the board.
