Im really hoping this is another “just as planned” moment from Sage somehow, because her not knowing she couldn’t rely on Soldier Boy to go one way or another on siding with Homelander is just incredibly stupid, especially after the mind reader told Sage he was secretly proud of him. Also, it was only after the episode that I realized they just left Huey at the church and never went back to that. Guessing that’s where most of the next episode is going to take place.

Ill agree she certainly dropped the ball a whole lot this last episode. Calling Soldier Boy in was completely unnecessary if they’d just found a better way to handle Divebomb other than just apparently relying on having a big brawl.

I mean she was laying it thick when talking to Mothers Milk about how "They're so predictable and ahaha I'm very smart", like, they would have been more subtle about this plot twist if Sage was wearing a flashing neon light sweater with "PRIDE COMES BEFORE THE FALL. ARROGANCE LEADS TO DEATH" emblazoned across it

If this is her downfall, if this is her slip-up moment after navigating everything so damn perfectly up to this point, that would be so ass.

I feel like that text about "Do we have a deal?" Was with Bombguy and that he wasnt carrying the real vial of V1, or that the V1 was spiked with something because she never had any intention of letting the boys have it, or he stashed it somewhere else and she’s been wanting to steal it this whole time and the bunker story is bullshit

100%. in Gen V she horrifically misreads her own lover, then almost crying asks Polarity why he would keep signing up for human attachment.

she has exceptional raw horsepower intelligence, is a sociopath who manipulates people adeptly, but there's a glaring deficit in her knowledge re deep human connections that her intelligence makes her too arrogant to recognize nonetheless try to compensate for.

would be terrible if Sage pulled another 'heh every failure is all part of the plan', reads like a child's understanding of genius. superlative intelligence is not a win everything card, Napoleon stayed in Russia until the winter, Newton wrote more about astrology and alchemy than he did about gravity and calculus, da Vinci's Vitruvian Man is beautiful but proportionally wrong. let's not even get into their personal lives.

that said i'm with Xno that i'm glad the arc appears to be moving on and there was too much focus on Soldier Boy / setting up Vought Rising for my tastes. wasn't bad stuff, just doesn't belong in the last few episodes of The Boys. lot riding on these final 2 eps.

I kinda wish they'd of introduced them earlier if they were going to do this, cause I feel like throwing in a spinoff character in the last two episodes to come in and possibly solve the problem instead of main cast who I've been following for 4 and a half seasons and getting to know and cheering for is probably the worst possible ending In my eyes.

Cause now it seems like its the worst of both worlds, cause people who've never watched GenV have to get a crash course on who the fuck this is and we have zero time to develop attachments or get to know the characters who's swooping in last minute, And for fans of GenV, it feels like they kinda just threw them in because they felt they had too with the least possible screentime?

Now I kind of feel like if this person is super important to the final two episodes, I'm going to need to go do two seasons of homework in a show I dont care about to understand this character, their motivations, and where they came from cause I'm guessing we're not going to get a satisfying explanation in less than two episodes. For a show thats been mocking the shit out of Marvel this feels real Marvel of them.

It’s wild in general to introduce so many crucial plot points in Gen V just to almost completely ignore their own lore in the final season of the main show.

Gen V S2 very much felt like a prologue for the final season of The Boys. But the final season of The Boys now feels like a long trailer for Vought Rising. It’s ridiculously marvel.

Like you would think the realization that Marie was born from the same Odessa Project as Homelander would be a way bigger fucking deal. It’s heavily insinuated she’s equal to him and has already shown she can easily kill a V1 level supe.

most elements of this season are p good, acting, characterization, laughs, development, but ya with few exceptions it does not feel like a final season, like they're crescendoing into some grand climax. feels like we're about halfway through how a final season ought be paced.
