A wall is a must-have for most ultimates. The other option is to reduce their stats, but a wall on top of that helps.

Yeah like..for Belias, I ended up just zerging it down for the most part with basic Shellga/Magic Breakdown and Agrias' Cleansing Strike.

Sadly since this is a higher Difficulty, I just can't do enough damage while also having a wall. I run out of abilities by that point, so I guess I'm just gonna have to pass on this one Sucks.

If you have decent damaging melee SBs, you can attempt the mithril revive cheese method. RW a wall or shout if you have a good medica to spam and use it to build up SB gauges and revive and retry the fight with full bars. Bring someone with a boostga SB or rallying etude to boost everyone if you dont bring shout and unload and hope its enough. It's what I do on my JP account to clear ultimates without a native hastega or wall lol

Yeah

and sadly my best melee SBs are the free one we got with the FFX dagger (Slow Buster) and Agrias's Cleansing Blade. Outside of that, pretty much all defaults as I've been very unlucky with the 11 pulls Either way, I can mitigate this fight's magic damage okay, but if he does that physical AOE, it absolutely wrecks me and that regen only regens like 250 hp a tick so it's not enough

I have the Healing Staff with the native Regen that's not the best, though.. and then I have Tyro's Storm Grimoire for the Lightning SB I suppose as well as one of my better ones, but that wouldn't be all that super helpful

So yeah i mean I could just mythril trick and hope to god I get like.. Offense 5-6 times or something but knowing my luck I'd get HP Lol

I've slowly been working on Hones. Lifesiphon and Banishing Blade are both R3 now and my Breakdowns are R2, but yeah I'm not really rolling in the Power Gems so ;w;

I think the only reason I beat Belias was cause it was a 120 Difficulty fight, and I was just able to Mythril Gem offense twice and zerg him down with Shout.

Have you considered RWing Runic? That nullifies the counter Drains.

Runic? I'd probably have to find it in the friend list stuff and add a few to try that. Gonna see.

Also since I got Doppleblade is it worth keeping? Or should I just shatter it?

I'd probably have to add it then try to cycle through just to get it to pop up. If you want you can.. but I've been using some mythril today on the level up stuff to prep for the FFVII event at the very least.

Let me give you the strategy I used. I switched from mage to melee and went full out.

Breakdowns are a must, as is shell. You can do without Wall if you have a medica and you have Celes to throw up Magic Shell.

Bring Dia and Saints. Dia for the Demon and Saints to knock the Goddess back into Demon.

Bring all the lightning mitigation gear you can.

Max out Fire spells + blades, they're the only elements that will do damage.

Bring multi hit physical abilities on your melees, Alexander on Terra if you have her.

This is a battle of longevity, so find a way to max your attack capability, which means having an attack up ability (like from the mittens) of some kind on ONE melee at the least.

Save ALL your multi-hit SBs for the last 20%.

finished relm and locke to 80 today to prepare for the ultimate. didn't get either of their RMs to drop (and only saw 2 ace pilot procs all day, leveling them from 51 and 65, respectively). probably gonna give it a go tomorrow as i don't think i'll be able to get any more meaningful hones done between now and the end of the event. setup should be:

Ramza (72) Banishing Strike R3/Magic Breakdown R3. Shout/Dr. Mog
Auron (80) ??? / Lifesiphon R3. Banishing Blade/Ace Striker
Terra (70) Firaja R3 / Alexander R2. Default/Blood of Espers
Locke (80) ??? / Lifesiphon R3. Valiant Strike/Battleforged
Relm (80) Curaja R4/Shellga R2. Portrait of Lakshmi/???

might jam steal power and draw fire on locke and auron respectively but idk. don't have TR or fullbreak but hopefully this suffices!

currently have relm on RW if anyone needs a curaga-grade medica, rge2.

Okay. I have Magic Breakdown + Full Break on Ramza (I just made FB) and Shell. I threw Terra in my group (was using Gilgamesh for the straight up Draw Fire/Retaliate, but using Draw Fire on Agrias + Banishing Strike R3 now) -- My Saint's Cross only has two uses. I don't have Celes leveled

I have Diara + Alexander on Terra now.

I only have one lightning resist (the Armlet) and have it on my lowest RES character.

I have Firaga and Fira Strike both at R4. My Multi Hit physical SBs are like..Sonic Blade and Cleansing Strike.

No, but it's 65 and I don't have anyone else really who could use Full Break that's leveled.

Oh wait I totally forgot Tyro existed lol

I do not as I started around the time of the Cloud/FF7:AC event from Fenrir Overdrive.

My account is not very old, which is why I was surprised I beat the Tactics Ultimate lol

May just have to skip out on this one, continue to level my FFVII chars so at least I can maybe have a hope of beating Reno D:

Ah yeah I guess with the drain and what not, say.. Agrias would absorb it and continue to be able to use Saints Cross even if it's R1? or Banishing Strike, whichever? That's not so bad.

Sadly I can't really pump her attack up too too much (though I do have her RM that boosts her Knight Ability damage) so it'd probably take forever.

Nah she doesn't have much hp. Those skills will cap if you have synergy. In fact that's your best bet for winning (and exactly what I did).
