Did the fights yesterday, but I noticed with Rufus that he doesn't really go into Mako spam mode until you kill the dog. So, I wound up mainly focusing on him while incidental AoEs from nukes and SSBs whittled down DN. By the time I took it out, Rufus himself was at around 1/3 HP, if not less. Made it a lot easier to work around MC then even though he could possibly use it sooner.

Tyro - Break dance, Power BD, Mako, SS

As for Hojo, I'll just laugh at the reta whining again. And I'm sure despite Rata saying it's "vialiable" he probably doesn't even have it honed yet as per the typical soapboxing that goes on every month or so when this comes up.

1/2 Meh. Would have been 1/1, but as usual, I didn't read and didn't bring Dispel so had to redo it. Whatever will I do with my 1 lost stamina.

Beat Rufus finally. Had to pray to RNJ that he didn't Mako Cannon me to death.

Had a run where not shitting you, he hit me with 8 AOEs in a row, followed by Mako Cannon. As someone RWing Shout, so only had breaks + Protectga, I got fucked. Had to spend a little mythril on Phoenix Bonuses, but..it's dead and I championed so fuck it.

Big fucking Grats man! Most jp players consider him to be one of the hardest ultimates!

Rufus took me a few tries (they kept gangfucking 1 char before I could get any mitigation up. Attack someone else ffs; It was red xiii, too. I guess they don't like other pets)

Once they stopped doing bs in the first round, I was able to win.

U+ was easier than ultimate. (had to do it twice since banishing strike didn't count as dispel)

Thanks a ton! I feel bad I missed out on the FFVI Ult last, but eh. At least doing these will slowly get my group stronger. I hope I get lucky on the Half off 11 draw coming up too D:

And Hojo down too. I think I had more problems with him than I did Rufus just because I felt like with Rufus, at least he didn't have as much defense/HP, so I burst him down a bit faster while with Hojo, that Blind shit really fucked me, and I had to save my Agrias' Lifesiphon til late since she'd always hit with it and Cleansing Blade spam or just hope Blind wears. Was miserable. Didn't even master it (missed by one medal due to two people dying at the literal very end.

Surviving this by reapplying the Healing Staff's small regen really helped. I had to use RW Shout from Ramza to even come close to the damage, and since all of my SBs are booty (except Cleansing Blade) it was very tough for me and I would not have won without Taunt+Retaliate on Greg. I got super lucky at the very end after I SB'd his Attack+ and actually connected every hit (while blinded) when he did his 4x hit that I countered. That and Cloud was able to self-stain with Drain Blade after Y'shtola (my best healer who could also cast black magic) and Agris bit the bullet.

Really sucked cause Agrias died as she was casting a Cleansing Blade that may have won it for me with everyone alive. I reeeeally hate losing out on those Major orbs, but I had to blow like 6 stamina on revies + buffs (I had three attack buffs, 2 ability, 1 HP) to even have a shot with my limited gear. Ugh.

Seem to be having quite the difficulty with the Hojo Ultimate+ with his barrage of counterattacks (SS2, Protect) even when I threw in Rinoa to lessen them from happening -_-

I cleared Hojo with Shout meta but forgot about the black magic condition for mastery. orz

Draw fire + retaliate combo completely shuts down the counters as well as the single target combo attacks.

Yeah, Hojo hits really frickin hard even with mitigation and unless you go pure dances + sb's for mitigation you have to proc the counters to apply it. Draw Fire + Retaliate adds decent damage in exchange for no melee abilities and puts a lot less stress on healing.

Worked, had to save my SBs for after the Blind to just finish him down. But seem to be having an issue with the last objective with "Dispel" his empowered form. I used the Banishing Strike when he buffed himself and removed his buffs but it seems to not count it?

it's specifically looking for you to use the spell version of dispel, banishing strike won't work.

Means you need the dispel spell
