PC Build Advice/Review II: 5090 or Bust.

I paid 60 with a $20 MIR in 2014 and this case has been nothing short of amazing. Next to no dust gets into this thing, it's quiet, plenty of room to work inside. My next build in a couple of years, assuming the fans are still running great, I just plan on gutting out the parts and re-using it.

Looking to get a UPS. From what I recall from researching years ago, Pure Sine Wave is the only way to go.

Not sure what VA/Wattage I need though. I am running 6700k/1080, 144hz monitor, 60hz monitor. So maybe 400W out of the wall at most.

Lately there have been a few power blips that have reset computer. Dont want to let that continue. So I really just need one that would stay alive for 5min or so. But one that would last 20min or so would be sweet too if not too expensive.

Any learned UPS people here know what size I need?

I want to reply to you Oreth but picking a case is such a personal preference thing. I don't care for the look of the Cooler Master Scout 2 at all. The Corsair 500R looks huge, but I like the 750D/760T models.

Fractal Design has some pretty nice looking stuff.

Yes very true. I decided to go with the Phanteks Evolv ATX edition with side window. Liked the look of the Tempered glass but the Cable side / rear of MOBO side also had a glass window didnt like that - (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811854022)

Also picked up the Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 - (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-871-_-Product). So now i just need to pick an appropriate CPU cooler. I was leaning towards the Arctic Freezer Liquid 120 - (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-152-_-Product) for something simple / quiet and effective but now im not sure as this case has a nice rail for larger radiators. Had the H100i before but shit was loud. Anyone used any of the smaller Coolermaster or NZXT Kraken coolers?

I only use noctua coolers. Fuck those shitty corsair closed loop water set ups. Big Air is quiet as fuck and extremely efficient.

Also with something like that does it effect GPU temps cause its close as fuck to the GPU?

Yes the 15 owns, won't affect gpu. Big water > big Air > small water. The great thing about the noctuas is they are some of the quietest coolers on the market and still get amazing temps.

I hate noise. Only reason I never went full water cooling was because I was never happy with the rad fans. Unless I could somehow run them outside my room or the window lol.

I used the 240 in the last desktop I had (only have a laptop these days). I did replace the fans with Corsair LED ones though because well, LEDs.

I had no idea such a hideous beast existed... I will second Noctua though, I am using one of their coolers in my super-compact Mini-ITX build and it does really well, considering the limited space available.

There are too many problems with the panels for me to justify getting a refurb. Need to get the newest revision and I'm afraid refurb won't be it, plus I think I want the Asus after narrowing it down with qc.

Things I want to upgrade are the cable management (behind is still a disaster, inside is good considering no extensions), monitor, keyboard, mouse, CPU cooler, and case fans (and controller).

I'm personally not a fan of ultra-wide. I can see its use for office setups, but for gaming/entertainment, I just wouldn't recommend it. It's just a 23" panel stretched out.

in terms of colors, it's about the same as an IPS (if the VA panel isn't a dud, anyway), and should look good.

It's just up to you in terms of preference - all I know is I can't stand it.

Yeah, I passed on it. I also found it for 299 at Microcenter. I like the UW idea but I also want to jump up to 1440p with my next two purchases (1070 and a monitor)

UW is amazing for gaming. Personally I wouldn't get a 2560x1080 but a lot of people love that option, I prefer the 1440p models. I'm much happier with it than I was with 4k both at around 30 and 40 inch sizes. I will agree it is preference, but unless you really sit in front of it you absolutely can not judge it. 1440p at 21:9 is the best thing I've gamed on, can't wait till they get the refresh rates a little higher and tech gets a little further.

I'm in slow buy mode. Looking for the right deal. Gonna have to upgrade my work PC again as well so I'm focusing on that. Going 4 screen and building the giant box I mentioned earlier.
