Sign me up for a 4090. Might end up going back to Intel this time too. Will srt aside a 2.5-3k budget, prolly won't be able to fit in a water loop right away since parts will be nutty expensive this time.
Sad thing is, Asus is about the only brand I would trust video card wise now that EVGA is down. I'll never own another Gigabyte product after how poorly they handled the exploding Power Supply issue, along with fucking up everyone's RMA's when their RMA server got hacked and all the information wiped.
MSI has always been mixed for me. My last computer was a MSI board, and things went well, but I've had previous systems with either a MSI board or Graphics Card and it performed like shit.
Supposedly Sapphire is really good though with their AMD cards.
Giga has really good MBs. Can't speak to anything else from them. Asus already had the best GPU product.
Asus makes great products but dealing with their customer service is like trying to cut your own dick off with a rusty spoon.
As long as the shit doesn't break you're golden.
concur with ASUS #1, Giga is fine, MSI bringing up the rear of the major manufacturers. depends on the model as much as the manufacturer tho, MSI has dropped some bangers, ASUS some clunkers.
re the 4000s will wait to see how real world performance is. some of the x2 claims are hard to swallow and the pricing is shit, but we shall see.
I'm probably gonna gun for a founders again and fall back on Asus if I can't secure one
40 minutes of Nvidia trying to suck off the pretentious doombringers of the "metaverse" just so Lowes can better put together in-store cabinet demos. I remember the days where new graphic card benchmarkers would show off like Lara Croft's boobies shooting a monkey in the face or something.
RTX Remix might be the most exciting thing from today's announcements honestly. New generational leaps in gpu performance are cool but not as cool as adding rtx and dlss to morrowind and ffxiv
If NVIDIA figured out a truly lagless way to provide frame interpolation like they're claiming with DLSS 3 that could also be a big game changer. Unreal Engine already has it built in for 3D animations (Tekken 7 at 120 fps is some wild shit), but a system wide solution would be pretty dope.
Shame it's entirely restricted to the 4000 series, but sadly par for the course with NVIDIA
The SDK it runs off of has been around for years and can run on Turing and Ampere cards, but they're locking it behind the new architecture for the DLSS 3 release.
Seems like the rest of the DLSS 3 advancements will work on older hardware, but the frame interpolation part is currently locked to the 4000 series only
Leaked CN comparison videos of ryzen 7000 are popping up ( it started being sold ahead of launch already ).
Some thoughts this one might be a fake but I'll leave it in a spoiler tag.
Spoiler: show
7600x tying with the 12900k ( $300 vs $600 ).
the higher clocked processors should be further ahead I guess.
Next monday is the "official" nda lift.
7800X3D should be pretty sick
Wasn’t going to mess with this gen but depending on gpu block timing I might. Had to wait 6 months for the FE block from EK last year.
I went with 32GB of cl14 ram but now I need 64 or 128 to run Cisco modeling labs but I would take s big hit in speed. Might just repurpose this 5950x/3090 into a living room /sever and do a new build.
4000 series are some chonky boys.
RIP my wallet.
3090 FE block looked better imo.
