AMD flying right underneath Nvidia with a potentially MASSIVE performance increase in that area is pretty exciting in quite a few areas. It feeds AMD some much needed capital, it hopefully generates some great competition when Nvidia starts digging into that range, and as Prothescar has said, it shows exciting potential for the future of consoles (as well as likely more mid range laptops). To say nothing of what we might see when AMD gets around to targeting the enthusiast market, assuming the higher end hardware sees similar gains from the 14nm architecture.
