#1, it's just an example.
#2, it's false that "normal 1070 are priced $379", it's been said that AIB cards will start at $379 while Founders are $449. AIB cards will vary from $379 through over $500, depending on the cooling solution and the overclock provided by the manufacturer.
Anybody got a 1080 they wanna sell me lol. I'm about to go to eBay and get scalped
yay finally got one.
Baller.
Slightly on topic, how interesting would it be for BG to have a general unboxing of tech or other random assortments.

oh I'ma unbox the shit outta my parts. I need somebody from BG to come assemble it tho. I have the largest man hands in the world
My last full build was nightmarish ... it's in an Ncase M1, version 1 (#911 out of 1,000). Such a tiny little fucker of a case. Putting it together was like playing Tetris, but it ended up awesome and I still love it two years later.
Mines going in another air carbide 540 so not to bad.
So what is yalls preference in monitors? With the 1080 on the way I can pretty much ditch my old Benq in turn for something that'll actually utilize my new graphics card.
Should I go 4K?
Should I go 1440?
What about Ultra Wide?
Somebody just tell me what to buy and I will
I always tell people to go with a 120hz 1440p. But some people like the real estate of a 4k. I've never met anyone that liked an ultra-wide monitor.
I'd agree that high refresh rate 1440p is probably the ideal atm unless you have enough disposable income to really push 4k.
A single 1080 can just barely do 4k60fps for current games, but will likely be lagging behind come the end of the year.
I bought an Acer Predator XB271HU to go with the GTX 1080, since I wanted G-Sync and >1080p but couldn't rationalize paying $4-500+ for a TN panel. Been nice so far, though the menu/buttons are kinda poorly designed.
4k seems optimistic for new/upcoming games at a consistent 60fps+, even with a 1080. Ultra-wide probably as well. Either are nice for non-gaming use though, and can likely adapt (4k could presumably do pixel doubling for 1080p, and an ultra-wide can do 16:9 in the center and have vertical black bars).
On the other hand, I got an Acer XG270HU last week and absolutely love it. I couldn't rationalize spending an extra $350 for g-sync when vsync makes such an incredibly minor difference at 144hz, and the paneling doesn't really matter to me because I don't do photo editing and only view it from head on anyways.
I wouldn't go 4k without it being 40inch and 4:4:4 but 40" is too big for where I sit - and any smaller I don't think does it justice putting 1440p 144hz WAY ahead for me.
I have a Korean 4k. A399U 39.5" 4k. Was $490. While I love it I sometimes think say a 34" 1440p 21:9 would've been better. Thing is, it would be more expensive. I think it depends how much you really want to spend.
ditto on the 21:9 1440p
I think my next resolution upgrade will definitely be 21:9 1440p or 4k equivalent. but must be 144hz
I still don't know if I personally would care about 144hz, and that is strictly because I've never played on one. I'm not competitive or into shooters that heavily so for me it might be a waste.
