I still don't know if I personally would care about 144hz, and that is strictly because I've never played on one. I'm not competitive or into shooters that heavily so for me it might be a waste.

As someone who got their first 144hz on Saturday and had previously been very skeptical, it was worth every penny. Even just moving the mouse around the desktop feels incredible compared to 60hz, smoother than a pedophile's wet dream.

Wtb ultrawide/4k @ 144hz

Because I play mostly mmos I have been leaning towards ultrawides or 4k for a while but with over watch, battalion, and maybe bf1 it makes more sense to get 144hz. I'm not sold on current gen ultrawide 144s.

a lot of the current gen ultrawides that are 144s that I see have a response time of >5ms which is sketchy to me

Yeah the tech isn't quite there yet when it should have been for a year now, am disappoint.

In the end though it means that the ~$1000-1200 monitors I've been looking at forever I can pass on and go with a 1440p 144hz or 4k monitor instead and pair it with a 1080 for a similar total investment. The wife won't get as mad at me and it'll all work out in the end. Still though, after playing MMO's on a 30inch 1600p for so long then going back to 1920x1200 during the move I really want to go back to at least 30" especially when the majority of my time is spent on MMO's. There is no perfect monitor for me, but the 1080 gets me there and lets me choose just about whatever I want. I have the strix and MSI version on browser alert now.

QFT. Love 144hz monitors. It's so buttery smooth. Even though I love to play couch games (FPS/RPGs) on the tv via pass through on the receiver (I have a 4k tv/receiver) the receiver is only capable of 60hz pass through at 4k. So I just bit the bullet sometimes and play on the monitor.

21:9 1440 is really nice for having extra real estate for stuff like UI windows in games, but I haven't played anything on something higher than 60hz though so I don't know how that feels. Seeing games on 1080 makes me feel claustrophobic now.

Quality control on that monitor is horrendous. Panel color uniformity is terrible.bad bezels. On a solid white screen, there would be yellow spots. Excessive back light bleed.

This was at launch though. Idk if they fixed issues or not.

I bought one and returned it immediately. Got the predator, it's almost perfect

Once you go 144hz, you'll never go back. I just ordered a Predator today, finally making the jump to G-Sync. I need to watch nowinstock more closely, still looking for that non founders 1080. It'll be sad to banish my Benq to a 2nd monitor, it has served me well.

Well, I went back. Gsync/Freesync > 144hz. Until really just in the last year or so those two were mutually exclusive unless you wanted to pay a fuck ton of money.

lol yea I enjoy putting it together, I just get so fucking anxious lol. I'm fine with AIO water cooling systems, I wanna branch out and do more rigid custom setups one day.
