It's not gysnc.
There isn't much gain from running SLI or 3 channel SLI for gaming, more so for boasting your epeen on benchmark boards.
On the shelf about getting a 1080 atm. Got a dual 980ti setup atm but its stuttering when in fullscreen windowed mode and showing sli pwr rel as issues on gpuz (doesnt happen on fullscreen strangely). Replaced the mobo but it didnt solve it. Gonna replace the old 1200w psu with a newer 1600w but if this doesnt work imma take a chance and change them out for the 1080's. Would get a good chunk of cash for them if I were to sell them now.
I wanted to upgrade my 3770k as well, couldnt get a buyer for a decent price. 6700k isnt really that big of an upgrade until you get to cpu bound games/instances. Still tired of my 3770k. Going to wait until cannonlake. 780ti is a pretty big upgrade though.
Well, now that the 1070 is out, you will be lucky to get $380 for one. Once the $379 models hit shelves. You will be lucky to get $300 for them. I'm not 100% sure about this, but you might benefit more from getting a gsync monitor to amend stuttering issues. I dont like multi gpu
I wouldn't normally post this buttttttt https://www.massdrop.com/buy/lg-31-3...ode=guest_open
Man this was the toughest decision of my life. I picked my first wife out faster than I did this monitor and well that didnt end up too well... regardless, I had the predator in my cart for like a week then discovered this one, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 So we'll see if my choice pays off.
Sort of? They just aren't recommending it and advertising it anymore. You can still 3/4-way SLI next gen cards, however you need to order a special bridge and request an unlock key ("Enthusiast Key") from nVidia in order to activate anything beyond 2-way. More than 2 cards has always and will always be a bad idea and waste of $ though.
Just posted by Cyberpower on Facebook.
Yeah... I don't even wanna know how much they're gonna charge for that.
Dope idea though if they can manage the heat.
Some Korean or Chinese company was advertising one a couple months ago.
Nope Nvidia decided to kill even the enthusiasts key. Funny enough, tri/quad SLI will still work for benchmark apps but not gaming with the exception of Cutting-edge graphics APIs like Vulkan and DirectX 12 which allow developers to directly access GPUs, so specific games will be able still tap into three or more graphics cards IF the developer implements it. And that's a big "if" because no support from Nvidia to implement it going forwar.
If you want 3 or 4 cards in you system AMD is the best choice; with their mGPU technology, no bridges, special keys or hoops to jump thro. Even works with multiple generation of cards.
