Pretty happy with that.
Built a new machine over my holiday weekend, I have everything setup but a GPU. Getting your hands on a 1070 or 1080 is about as difficult as getting your hands on a Wii back when they first released.
My local Micro Center has the MSI Gaming 1070 for $460 and plenty of them. They said they cannot keep the 1080 in stock even with it priced $800.
picked u pan NVidia 1070 last week from Best Buys website 449 free shipping... guess I got lucky? I even attempted to cancel the order to wait and see what the 1060 would bring, but it was too late.
Got it last night and installed it, and it's great.
I said graphics score in my post.
Engrish is hard bruH!
Leaked benchmarks have the GTX 1060 performing anywhere from roughly the same as a RX 480, to roughly 25% faster than a RX 480, depending on resolution and game. There's been nothing leaked about power efficiency yet, so we'll have to wait on that.
Basically it looks like the 1060 will be exactly what the RX 480 is; that is, an ideal 1080p card, and a passable 1440p card, though somewhat faster at both and a little more expensive.
It will be, but I still think spending the extra $$ on a 1070 is worth it unless the owner is dead set on sticking with 1080p. And at this point with 2560x1440 27" quality monitors regularly going on sale for $185-$240 there is zero reason to not have a 1440p rig. The rig itself and easily be built for under $850.
I agree with the notion of 1440p being the easy minimum, but in reality it doesn't quite work like that.
:^) Nvidia is at it again.

I dont recall seeing my gpu going past 6600 memory either. Sent it back. Probably nothing wrong with it but drivers are absolutely shit right now so hard to tell.
I looked around and that seems to be the only place on the internet claiming there's an issue.
Can't load that disaster of a webpage. What's it say?
It's basically saying that memory past the ~6.5GB or so mark does not work and/or has much worse performance (i think??). I haven't seen this anywhere else, and I know there are reviewers out there that loaded up the memory as much as possible.
Windows 10 did an update. New system isn't reading the gpu anymore. Checked the log and says that the Nvidia driver failed to install. Restarted and got a fresh driver posted by Nvidia today. Didn't fix it.
Any thoughts before I reinstall windows?
