Locke & Key - second attempt at a TV series

Pretty excited about this, I hope one of the premium networks like HBO picks it up.
The supernatural adventure horror comic series “Locke & Key” has been attempting to expand out of the pages of graphic novels and land on some sort of TV/movie deal for many years. Back in 2012, a TV pilot was passed over by Fox and then, in 2014, creator Joe Hill stated that the series was in the works as a trilogy of films over at Universal. However, that plan was scrubbed late last year as Hill himself nixed that information. But at the same time he raised hopes that a TV series might be on the table again someday. Today that dream becomes a reality.

IDW Entertainment has announced that the award-winning comic series is being adapted as a television series with Hill acting as executive producer and as the director of the pilot.

Joe Hill explains, “I love this story. The seven years I spent working on Locke & Key was the happiest creative experience of my life, and there still isn’t a day when I don’t think about those characters and miss visiting with them. The six books of the series are very like six seasons of a cable TV series, and so it feels only natural to bring that world to the little screen and to see if we can’t scare the pants off viewers everywhere.”

David Ozer, President of IDW Entertainment adds, “Having Joe at the helm of the pilot ensures that the series will hold true to the brand that fans around the world have come to love. “Locke & Key” is a true global franchise.”

A family moves into Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, which has fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them, and is home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all!

I loved Locke & Key. I think it would be great as either a series following the comics or an anthology going through different eras of the Key House.

Ksenia Solo would have been a good Dodge. Oh well.
