For physical I agree insofar as if you can bring the 50% boostgas but synergy makes it easier to avoid relying on them and to use a broader range of characters.
For magic I don't agree for now - the cap is just too high. But magic is pretty bad at the moment so eh to myself.

My bad. I was being sloppy with my original post; I wanted to mention I had trouble specifically with doing 100k before megaflare 3 since normally I'd burst him down with soul breaks but ran into his high def+no synergy (the specific problem was I had to use atk RM over +damage RMs) and was using wind to compensate over lifesiphon, but I didn't get that across.

Eh, I don't even rely on SBs that much honestly but my other big source of damage (Saint Cross) was not an option in this fight.

Not to brag, but with how the game is now, Synergy is not as needed as before, party composition, skills(hones) and SB are more important then synergy

My party is a good exemple, I had almost 0 synergy and only lost 1 medal on bahamut

This ult+ was by far the hardest one imo, but might have been because I didn't have a single III relic. I did beat it after hours of s/l'ing though with only 1 medal loss once I eventually got Tornado Strike as mentioned before, but still took a lot of s/l'ing. He kept raping me in the beginning, and sometimes would do mega flare > hurricane -> hurricane -> hurricane which would rape my entire party after 55%. The one where I won I got lucky and he started using Flare a lot.

Finally beat this Ult+ after taking a small break from it. Decided to egg Celes from 57 to 80 and got her unbreakable spellblade materia then mastered it.
