FFRK - Dangerous Beauty (FFXIII) Event & Strategies

I'm getting wrecked by Bahamut because he's spamming me with that big physical hit move he has at the start and hitting people for like 7k. Then again I was also stupid and went in without Protectga..Just Full Break/Magic Breakdown/Shellga, planning for the infernos.

Even still, Infernos were hitting me for near 3k. I need to do more daily dungeon farming for more Fire Resist first I guess and make sure to bring protectga :<

Had to s/l Bahamut once since he one-shot Lightning with Umbral Vice for 7k dmg. Went smoothly after that with Lightning, Sazh, Fang, Tyro, and Garnet using Shout RW. Went in with the same setup on Caius and got him to 1/5 before he killed Garnet on a down turn. Probably gonna redo it with Shout setup later. Dismissal didn't seem to have a high success rate for me.

yeah, if I don't get off shellga and stoneskin or something, his infernos were destroying me. I almost had him but I didn't realize SS wore off and then I melted. Taking a break from it for now

Got unlucky twice with opening from U where he hits Bartz for 7200 damage soon as fight started, but once I got past that it was a breeze. Beat him with no medals lost. Gonna try U+ tomorrow or Monday depending on whether I can squeeze him in or not.

I didn't have too much trouble on either one, breezed through both after I got favorable enough RNG to get past turn 1 without anyone dead. No medals lost on U, lost 1 medal for damage on U+

Cleansing strike was definitely MVP for U+, it reduced the giga gravitons on the last half of the fight to about half of what they were after he buffed with body and soul (replacing his +20% atk/mag buff with -25% atk/mag debuff), making the AoE spam much more survivable (was getting hit for about 700 a pop with pro/shell, fb/mb, wall, and cleansing strike vs about 1300 without cleansing). I would definitely consider it as an RW option if you have a native wall and dont have a native atk/mag break of some sort.

mastered U+, lost 2 medals for damage taken. Was one of the harder U+ fights imo, he just attacked so quickly. I'm sure it would have been easier had I brought protectga and shellga, but I only brought one of them.

Welp, today was the first time my entire PT was wiped in a single attack.

Ignis is some serious shit. Getting Umbral Viced for 6k is bad enough but jesus, eating an AOE for 5.5k+ across the board is just obscene.

Maybe its really rare, but Caius can use Body + Soul at near full HP. Have had him use it twice in runs so far.

He almost always used it as his second or third action for me. It even says in the comment section that he likely will. Is he not supposed to use it at near full HP?

1/4 to master. Should have been 1/2 but back to back aoe right before medica went off fucked me. Lost agrias at the end but thankfully he didn't body and soul the last 15%

After many attempts with U+, RNG was on my side for most of the fight with almost no Body and Soul until he was nearly half hp, dodging some of his aoes, Bahamut Eye being a blessing as well before his "randomly do massive aoe damage out of nowhere even with Wall + Shellga + Protectga up and Body and Soul dispelled". Lost my healer, everyone sliver of hp, but succeeded on the last SB by Fang I could squeeze out before I knew would likely be my loss afterwards. Mastered with 3 medals lost, typical 2 damage loss and 1 action taken. If I hadn't mastered no way I was going to prey to RNG again like that after barely winning.

Oh FYI Locke with the pumpkin weapon on this fight was laughably broken. He evaded so much shit and was still doing close to 12k thief's revenge and 7-9k dismissals

The AI gives a very high probability of it being used by turn 2, and another one guaranteed at the 60% mark on his transition to weak phase. Also a low probability that he'll select it as a random action on any turn.

I got super lucky with Bahamut. I have like no synergy so I prioritized damage (HoTE RW with Shout in my team). I took a lot of damage and almost wiped. I got super lucky and he missed his first physical attack, and then missed that same attack again like when he was at 5%.

Without missing both of those I wouldn't have mastered (or even won depending on who he wanted to take out; because if he took out any of my healing/mitigation then it woulda been ggs)

wow this U+ is getting to be a serious pain... i've gone thru a few different setups and still haven't been able to crack it..

don't have any native wall or Quisty's MG... but my synergy is really good for XIII.

my current setup is:
Lightning: Overture. Drain Strike(Lifesiphon?)/Dismissal RM: Ace Striker
Ramza: Shout. Banishing Strike/Armor Bkdwn RM: Dr. Mog's
Sazh: Boon. Full Brk/Magic Bkdwn RM: Mako Might

Selphie: Dreamstage Prot/Curaja RM: Knight's Charge


i've gotten him down to 20% a few times and just back to back aoe's and wipes me out. Getting really frustrated and annoyed, don't want to give up yet tho.
