I meant between Sony and MS (since I already own a PS4) there isn't anything truly different between the two offerings that makes me interested in going out and buying a XBone. The reverse would likely be true if I owned a XBone and was looking at PS4.

That's fair. Depending on how much of the gaming library is going crossbuy in the future, it definitely removes the necessity for actually owning an Xbone. I use my Xbone all the time, but never for gaming (it's basically a voice controlled HTPC for my living room). Think the only game I've played on it in the last year was getting down with RoTR prior to its PC release. Granted I think I've really played like... 2 or 3 games total on my PS4 in 2016?
