Summer Anime Season 2016 Thread

If anyone is watching DR3 and has yet to see/play UDG (Ultra Despair Girls: Another Danganronpa), be warned, it has some pretty big spoilers for UDG in the new Future episode, only saw the intro and it spoiled part of the game for me Haven't seen the rest so i'm staying away until I finish watching UDG on Youtube.

Rem is so best girl. Subaru is a fucking asshole. This episode was pretty good though.

Indeed. Subaru turning down best girl Rem who is seemingly perfect, for Emilia who hasn't shown any of the qualities Rem has or really been around Subaru that much.

My biggest complaint about this show is that Subaru didn't go full Groundhogs Day and just learn to fucking fight. Guess that movie isn't popular in Japan.

While he may mentally pick things up, I'm not sure if any kind of physical training would carry over at all. The closest kind of hint we may have to this being a thing involved him going to the capitol to get healed, but on his repeats, they've offered no indication of things being lesser than the prior life. So, the more likely outcome would be him just memorizing how something transpires as he tries/fails repeatedly a la Edge of Tomorrow.

So, while him getting trained up would be cool, I don't think we technically have the time for it with the remaining episode count. I'm guessing the other knight prick is involved with the Cult, which will put him directly at odds with Subaru. Astrea will get paired with Betelguese and the minions on both sides will do the cannon fodder thing. Assuming Subaru has hit a new save point with downing the whale, we could possibly get 2-3 takes on the coming events, which is further why I feel episode count is a concern.

If there's another season and some kind of time skip is employed, then by all means, he should train into a badass. There are definitely enough loose ends to facilitate it, and hey, maybe by then he'll realize fixating on Emilia was the wrong move.

Update on Regalia - production issues were the cause of the delay. The series will restart the fall with a rebroadcast of Eps. 1-4.

There was an undertone from various people that made it seem he had done that for Suburu's benefit.

The thing I never thought of about Suburu training would be that his body's condition goes back to the save point also. If he were to train up physically, it'd all be lost. I would think his technique, however; would be saved as knowledge.

The only thing I remember about that show was the battle of high pitch voices, like they were seriously trying to 1-up the other girls or something. You can kinda tell just by looking at that picture.

I'm not sure how fun it is to have to kill yourself over and over to get a reset. At least in Groundhogs Day, he could just go to sleep and wake up on the same day iirc. Also, in the early part of series in the mansion, Subaru showed concern over how many times he could die comparing the first arc where he dies 3 times and then was on his 4th possible death in the mansion. Since Subaru does not have full knowledge of what's going on, it might be possible to reach "Game Over" (i.e. he only had XX lives all along).

Plus, this show does away with the idea that dying to reset things is child's play and theres no issues from it. Every death has left Subaru traumatized and for a while he was breaking more and more. Definitely no way he would want to keep killing himself over and over even if he had unlimited lives.

Rem basically summed up their relationship outcomes. She loves him as he is, but if he ran away and chose a life with her he wouldn't be the same person anymore that she loves.

Looks like Cartoon network is going strong with another Anime influence. Studio Trigger's Animator Takafumi Hori will be animating some scenes for the episode this week(unknown if style of the show or Anime like). I don't see it being anything like the Amazing world of gumball but Takafumi Hori is fantastic talent and a huge fan of the show.

Well that episode was a big fat ball of nothing beyond showing how the UDG crew are doing after the end of the game, Monaca turned out to be a Red Herring, kinda surprised Nagito and the other Remenants let her just simply "walk away" from being the next Junko Enoshima, well one thing I learned from finishing UDG is that there were "Two" Junko AIs, so with the one already destroyed, I imagine the second Junko AI is behind this killing game as well.

Steven Universe Mindful Education

Pretty dark episode. I did like Steven and Connie are fighting their demons. I am glad they finally touched on Steven conflict on what his mother did to Jasper, Bismuth and him to Ruby in Earthling episode. The Takafumi Hori animated scenes were impressive(Style of the show) but no were near his top work and doesn't hold a candle to The Amazing World of Gumball Anime scene.

DR3 Disbear EP 07:

Holy fucking shitballs! Finally getting into DR 0 and get to see the first mutual killing game by the student council, was such a good episode, finally entering into the Tragedy era, also nice nod they had to UDG by hinting that Animator guy's anime techniques could brainwash people.

The Amazing World of Gumball - The Compilation

Such a fun episode and I loved the song at the end. I was wondering why the turtle was in the episode as she was removed from the show but it was love letter from the staff.



Season 5 will start on 9/1 and a 2 part on 9/5(The Disaster/The Re-Run).
