Summer Anime Season 2016 Thread

7 episodes in and Battery finally gets to an actual baseball game.... and it's the most boring shit I've ever seen.

I thought it was pretty clear that baseball wasn't the main focus, and it's more character drama.

So I dropped it after 3 episodes because the characters sucked and it looks like I might not have been wrong. Maybe the pay off is good but I don't wanna sit through 11 episodes of angst.

Had a feeling Kanna was gonna be a goner. Thats what I love about this show and main character though. Any other show would've had Ikta and company running in for the save, but Ikta used cold, hard logic and it led to him not being able to save the camp.

Thunderbolt Fantasy Ep 7/8

Holy shit.... after all the build up, they skip directly to the tower leaving part of the group behind? if this was any other show, it would have been 4 to 5 episodes long. Then the twist of what was happening, and Lin Setsu (the white dude who started this whole journey) being a master thief who just wanted the treasure.


The short battle was nice.

Atomic Puppet Ep1-2

The stories is pretty average, but my god the animation is amazing, This the same Studio who did the first season of Star vs forces of evil(they dropped that show after 5 episodes and rest were done by other studios), the animation is very active and hardly a dull movement. It's really depressing Star is very average now because it lacked what made first 5 episodes so special.

PS Disney needs to put the show on iTunes and stop fucking with time slot.

The Amazing World of Gumball The Disaster(Part 1) (leaked)

Great episode. clever and hilarious. An actual universal remote that can control anything in the palm of Rob’s hands. I cannot wait for second part and see the outcome.

Just hoping it isn't the second step in confirming my suspicion Margrave is really a bad guy. The first being Ram's flashback and how it almost looked like he was the one who cut off her horn. Then the finger diddling to the wound later on, which may facilitate some form of mind control if it's all true. Ultimately, why he's even watching over Emilia hasn't been elaborated on, but it being of some benefit to the Cult isn't a stretch. Heck, we're still not sure on why they chose to make a move now.

Still not sold on Julius really being a good guy, either. :/

I'm actually more concerned about the witches now. It's clear that whatever power brought Subaru into this world is either controlled by them or controlling them. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the other witches cult members were all brought to that world the same way that Subaru was and eventually corrupted.

Something else that wasn't touched on in the show so far is that one of the other princess's knights is also from Japan. It's the guy with the helmet and all the scars. It's mentioned in one of the few chapters of the manga that I was able to find.

I'm so happy with how this series has matured over its course. I was concerned about the art quality at first but got over it pretty quick.

Car jokes aside, I was quite amused to see Betelgeuse return after his initial death with a new voice. A shame that was short lived, but there should be more to come.

In the last week or so I've binge watched both Re:Zero and Mob Psycho 100 after initially thinking both were not animes I would enjoy. I enjoyed them. Quite a bit.

Are there any other notable series I'm stupidly avoiding but should watch?
