Both sides employed ample hyperbole on the projected impact from remain/leave. Short term market fluctuations should not be interpreted as "remain's post-exit economic doom and gloom was correct." Equity markets are effectively this:
The real impact from exit will not be discerned for years; the exit itself may not be actually effectuated for up to two years.
I think it was a poor choice, but it's not the end of the world.
First this... then president Trump. Welcome to 2016 y'all. The beginning of the end.
There will probably be some very short term impacts to be seen.
Namely, Scottish independence, reunification of Ireland.
lol
Hurry, buy all the sodas you can from vending machines before prices get adjusted!
zet, since you're a stock market guy (iirc), what sort of impacts do you see from this, on a longer term?
genuinely curious
Really hard to say. After this initial shock and awe, you'll see impacts on companies that do a lot of business in the UK and neighboring countries play out due to the tax restructuring. If they impose tariffs in either direction that will skew the market and affect prices.
I am not a licensed broker and this is not investment advice.
Freedom for my Scottish and Irish heritages!
Zet, should day traders be on suicide watch over the weekend? I was expecting turmoil over this but it's been nuts. One of the few times I'm glad I'm too poor to own stock
Hah; Trump is claiming credit, and saying its no big deal because he makes money when these things happen.
I'm from the north west of England, I voted to leave, my county was a remain win though. Scotland, Ireland and London can fuck off and form their own separate states, we've carried Scotland far too long, see if they can survive on their own without us.
All this knee jerk reaction to the stock markets will resolve itself in time.
lol.
