eg US states that didn't pass marijuana legalisation in state referendums. They're never allowed to vote on it again because the people voted once?

If it failed it could be voted on again, or voted on a measure to repeal if it passed. Don't see how you should reverse the first result before it even went into effect though.

Also, I'm hoping the UK does leave the EU(no revote) because... the people voted for this. Anything otherwise, and folks will lose confidence in their power of voting.

To be honest I'd rather they not leave just the Tories and their muppet cohort get utterly rekt. Leaving risks starting a guerella war back up the North for Ireland unless a border poll happens there and some of them from the Unionist parties are idiotic dinosaurs noone here wants to deal with.

You're right, I missed your response entirely due to the page change I guess. I'll formulate a response asap and no I'm not being sarcastic.

Forgive me if this isn't as in depth as i'd like it to be, there are positives and negatives to being in the EU, and just for the sake of debating my reasons for wanting to leave I'll only really be discussing the negatives and why I feel they outweigh the positives, and that why in the short term it might be bumpy but in the long term Britain will be better off. But I AM aware of the benefits the EU offers and that the UK has been the recipient of EU benefits. I'll also like to point out in my look into Leave v Stay I don't give a single fuck if Cletus McJerbob is voting Leave because he hates brown people and wants em out, I'm only look at the possible practical consequences and benefits of the Exit.

I’d ask like to add a small disclaimer here. I’m not arguing I’m right, or that you’re wrong, only my opinion on the situation that I admit is limited. I'm also not rigid on this and my mind can change...

The EU is a good idea in theory and has been in practice for some time, it promotes a multi-national coroperation and helps with Trade, military cooperation, etc. However, the EU takes the path it wants to take, and the EU is out of touch with its citizens and those who don't want to go the path the EU wants have very little options other than just leaving. The EU has very little flexibility leaving individual countries with no real autonomy, and at the behest of the EU's regulations, tariffs, and laws. They do have some say in the matter with representatives but when you're one country among over 20 and the EU being as out of touch as it is, your voice isn't loud. Democracy can't work very well when its crushed under bureaucracy.

Border policies, trade deals and prices, the Euro(Of which the UK is not using), Agricultural pricing policies, all outside a countries control and by extent its citizens control. Then you have policies such as the Free Movement of Labor, which can be good or bad but ultimately I think it will do more harm than good to all countries involved. In theory it promotes competitive wages and an employees market for skilled workers... in practice it can lead to less "rich" countries losing their best and most skilled workers to more profitable countries who can afford to pay them more. For the countries that can afford to pay them more, they risk population growth that will drive up housing costs, and unemployment rates, basic traffic and city congestion, etc

You also have to consider that some of the countries, like the German, French, Italian, etc political systems are having Anti-EU parties gaining traction, the consequences of with could be nothing or could spell even worse future for the EU. The fact of the matter is the EU is driving itself towards a path the citizens of the UK just don't want and with how rigid and unchanging the EU is, their options are either "just be carried in whatever direction the EU wants" or leave and hope for the best. I feel having autonomy over border policies, immigration, trade deals, to just name a few will let the UK become the country it wants to be and not the country the EU wants it to be.

Rather that will be better or worse, fuck IDK, I guess I'm just putting faith in the idea the UK citizens know what they want even if you don't agree with it, and that they'll have enough to fall back on when leaving the EU that they'll be able to make up for the short term losses in the long term. I don't have an eyeglass into the future, I can't say for 100% certain leaving is the right idea, I just think the UK will do fine, and will likely grow better from it. The EU has benefits, but those benefits aren't always equal and they come at a high price.

Thats just my limited view into it and I understand it, as I said, theres plenty of positives and I don't deny them nor do I deny this COULD potentially be the wrong choice, I'm only really bringing up some negative aspects because you guys have all the positives well and covered. So yah, hopefully I've covered my ass enough in disclaimers here that I don't have to deal with 50 rebuttals of so-and-so-and-so-and-so positives I never claimed to not exist.
