Murphy did narrowly win re-election, the first Democrat to do so in New Jersey in 44 years.

I just cannot understand HOW in the FUCK millions of people witnessed with their own eyes Republicans SWARMING TO MURDER CONGRESS and then shrugged and said "meh sure let's give them some more power". Voters still seem to hate Trump but not connect or understand that Trump is still completely influence everything happening in the party and their planning.
Democrats need to HAMMER out messaging about the fact that:
-GOP factually attacked the US with pipe bombs, guns, and savage beatings resulting in deaths.
-This plan hasn't ended but only continues in the form of fascist violence towards school boards, election workers, politicians, and medical workers.
-AND THAT ALL OF THIS IS THE CONTINUING PROJECT OF TRUMP.
VA Exit Poll: "We think DEMs are too liberal"
Leftist Response to VA Result: "We need to be MORE liberal to win!"
Running on policy is their whole problem. People don't give a shit, most already have their expectations of what their party will do. People want personalities they can project those thoughts onto.

85% of unvaccinated Virginians voted for Youngkin. 95% of his voters hold a favorable view of Trump. Almost all of his voters were white. Black voter turnout was up from previous years but white turnout was up a lot more.

Dems in power A) Don't care and/or B) Are just way way waaaay too incompetent to do anything
Biden could have put tons of pressure on the two fuckwad senators but he didn't really give a fuck about anything he promised to deliver on. In 3 more years we're just going to have Trump again or Desantis or some other GoP goon in office so that dems can sit around going "oooooh noooo we can't do annnnything with them! Elect us next time and we'll totally get it right!!" while also putting forward a candidate whos 900yrs old but gets the nomination.
Honestly if the last year and a half of covid has taught me anything, it's that I need to get out of this country when I can and not look back. It's never going to change and only going to get worse. Even when a Dem is in office it's just 4yrs of trying to undo 25% of the horrible shit the GoP did while in office and at the same time keeping the status quo on other shit.
Dem's making everything about race is a big problem. Even if it is true, pointing to it every waking fucking day and making every topic about it will only turn off white Americans, even if they agree. You can only be shoved into a box and called racist so many times a day before you stop giving a fuck.
A lot of times people yell racism, it is more of a classism issue. If you focus the topic to that point, you will most likely help those in that class figure out who the real bad guy is. The second you start to break up that lower-class group into race, you will start to lose some of those people. Just focus on the poor, and you will end up helping everyone that needs help.
Yeah but by not doing that now they look like the bad guys lol. Lazy bad guys who always make the same mistake and don't try hard enough when given the chance.

Or we could just pass the fucking bipartisan version the Senate already passed, then work on what we can get out of reconciliation on the overall budget.... You know, what a sane person would do.
As sane as that is, it's the only leverage the progressive wing has to prevent a full gut on the social bill. They're already pissed that it's less than 50% than the original vision. And Manchin said his initial stance on the social infrastructure bill was $0. He doesn't want it. By going to $1.5T he said he's p much compromising with the progressives as fucked up as that sounds.
