Yep. The whole "terrorists steal our own nukes" thing is some Tom Clancy/Hollywood shit. The real concern has always been some terrorist group getting their hands on some nuclear materials and then recruiting or paying someone to build a dirty bomb for them.

Nukes need to be activated properly for its full yield as far as I know. Outside forces causing an explosion are incredibly small. On the other hand I'm sure the worlds superpowers have the zerg button ready to interfere.

I don't think Erdrogan is stupid enough to think that if he pushes civilians to the base then U.S. or NATO won't do anything. Stepping on that base is pretty much suicide.

but if he wants to seal anti-western sentiment, goading them to leroy jenkins the base and get turned into chunky salsa would pretty much do the trick. 'bloodbath' doesn't look good in print back home, either.

This must be very confusing for everyone involved. I'd love to see how they interact.

From what I understand/have read, yes, at least in part. Turkey is pretty patriotic in general and its still a pretty young nation as well.
