Yeah, as per my original post in this thread:

This is an opportunity to ask somewhat technical questions without risking your account. They will all probably get stonewalled due to both ignorance and potentially policy, but asking the question might make the devs ask their tech guy that question and it might cascade.

For instance:

FFXI was developed to work over 28k internet connections and made some data-transfer concessions as a result. Now that high-speed internet is much more common, would it be possible to increase the amount of server-client traffic either by increasing the frequency with which packets are sent or by increasing the size of the packets? Doing so could dramatically reduce area loading times and would make the game generally run smoother.

This kind of question is almost certainly going to get stonewalled because it requires actual investigation from the technical team, but it might at least inject the idea.

Overall, it was not as useless as I thought it would be. It was very disappointing to here that the only 'new' content are Ambusade and Master Trials-no-one-do until March. No server merges, no improvements to server loads, no subscription changes...really, nothing assuring about the future of the game was provided by this AMA. I suppose one can question what the whole point of this AMA was if not to cast doubts that anything positive is coming.

Yeah I really don't get what the point of an AMA was at this time. Would have made sense during RoV or something, but the game is dead/over besides ambuscade (which is garbage non-content), and they basically confirmed it will remain so for the foreseeable future.

And despite everybody on BG whining about FFXIV it still has plenty of subscribers. FFXI players are mostly biased about FFXIV, we're spoiled by a different perspective on how MMOs should be, we're not the most objective judges for a game like FFXIV if you ask me.

noone is objectiv, but FFXI players know what they want in an MMO and 14 basicly delivers 0 of that.

I still don't see ffxiv as such a bad game, but it's clearly not the game for me.
Played WoW way too long for xiv to feel fresh to me or to entertain me

They could even do the 2 limbus sets in ambuscade. Limbus like Salvage got revamped to 99 but not ilvl before adoulin hit.

The STAT+1 isnt worth 18 ambuscade runs to me, I'll just buy an extra dye next month lol

But is stat +1 worth the 400k or so you could get selling HP bayld with that 800 points?! But yeah, no. Screw grinding 20k each month for the last dye. If you grind that much anyway more power to you. I managed to hit 20k this month but I'm more than burned out on Ambuscade at this point.

If August's Ambuscade will offer us a doable Intense again I think I'll farm 20k (I have 2+2 Abhalys seals as well), but if it's gonna be another month of normal only... well fuck farming 20k again with 300 points a run, I won't be able to do that and keep my sanity.
