Part of the problem with the current polls is how they model voter turnout because normally you'd look at the last 2-3 cycles but Obama boosted turnout a lot so it's hard to gauge what turnouts going to look like this time around.

I will literally never understand how voter ID is racist. The day I found out people were actually allowed to vote without ID I just couldn't fathom that such a thing was possible.

Re: debates. All Trump needs to do is not fly off the hinges. If he just keeps it together, he'll look good with such low expectations. Hillary meanwhile needs to get DT worked up and flustered, ideally fumbling with his lack of policy specifics.

It'll probably be a shit pile like the rest of this election cycle, with far too much talk about emails, Skittles, and rare Pepes. I don't anticipate any discussion about infrastructure needs on which Hillary has a decent grasp, or problems requiring decades-long solutions like advanced nuclear energy production or carbon sequestration.

I understand that some people attempt to use it to their own benefit to stifle dem voters. I still think voter ID should be mandatory, there is nothing in this world that shocks and confuses me more then people being allowed to vote without proving who they are. It's not even that much of an inconvenience, I daresay less of one than actually voting as you can literally do it any day of the year you want. Just this election cycle alone I have seen video evidence of people voting multiple times in multiple states for bernie/hillary/trump during this nominee phase. Literally mind boggling to me, make EBT or welfare pay the 10$ or whatever it is for someone to get an ID.

I feel like the debate might actually be the most boring thing we have seen thus far even though i'm hoping for otherwise. Trump is prolly going to take a few valiums in an attempt to not say anything stupid, and Hillary is just going to spend time poking him and pretending she is a likable human being.

It also targets an issue that doesn't exist - in person voter fraud is a miniscule %.

It's not racist so much as it is socially ignorant. The underserved/under-represented minorities are the least likely to be able to afford the time or be able to travel to the place in order to get an ID. The most responsible approach would be to mandate issuance of a voter ID to every eligible citizen instead of "citizens who get a driver's license".

Not every citizen drives to work (Cream uses a bike, for example) and not every citizen has the education or background to know where to get an ID.

So yes, while not explicitly racist in its goals... asking for someone to go register for a voter's ID is tantamount to saying "Rich, educated white folks only".

The problem with poor people is seldom poverty and more often education and opportunity. Everyone is poor at some point. You're more likely to be poor if you're a minority. You're also more likely to live in an area with other poor people in, you guessed it, underfunded school districts. Lack of education = lack of opportunity. Lack of skill = lack of opportunity. Do the math.
