Huntsman's ambassadorship under Obama was undoubtedly a line of attack in the Republican primaries but Bob Gates is still venerated among conservative circles as the most successful Defense Secretary of our time and Chuck Hagel likewise remains a well respected party elder. it would likely signal an end to future electoral ambitions but even in this partisan age the right Republican can get away with serving in a Democratic administration their reputation intact.

Out of curiosity. Say Hillary is somehow disqualified from running days before the election. What happens to early voters that voted for her? Do they simply not count? Is there even any kind of plan for something like that?
