Honestly the non-support for McCain and Ryan seems inconsequential to me. Both of those guys are up for re-election. Both have lots of other opponents within the party. Why is Trump supposed to pledge his support for the current candidate no matter what? That's ridiculous. If he prefers the primary opponent (ofc, within the GOP) he should be completely within his rights to do so. Paul Ryan isn't Republican Jesus. A lot of people loathe the guy.

If anything's going to hurt him it'll be if Khan stays in the media. This isn't going to do anything other than make some big heads mad.

It may be non consequential to their re-elections, but that doesn't stop it from pissing republicans off.

It's not inconsequential in the least bit. Ryan can remain speaker of the house without holding office. If Trump somehow manages to win the presidency, it'll be Ryan pushing Trumps promised legislation. It'll be Ryan whipping votes. If Trump shits on Ryan, Ryan can make Trumps presidency inconsequential.

Typically if the speaker of the house of representatives and one of the longest standing senators who is highly respected on both sides of the aisle endorse you as president, to turn around and say nah, i'm endorsing your opponent, you are essentially saying this party is not unified, it's a box of kindling and i'm going to burn this motherfucker to the ground.

Generally fox news polls only have a slight republican lean.

They're not even trying to hide it this time either. Usually they'd say the lead was 2-3% or some shit to keep it close & interesting.

Or they'd say it was 2-3% because it actually was?

Bro, how many days ago was it that you were claiming Trump was in the lead?

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

How does Gary Johnson compare for those who want to be republicans? I know most of us are democrats, so are probably not going to agree with his policies, but when I look at his they seem to me what I feel the republican party should be (less about religion, more about fiscal responsibility and smaller government). I also have some fb friends who are republican and leaning towards Johnson.

Pretty sure I've never posted a poll on here and you're confusing me with someone else. That said, Trump was most definitely leading in most polls prior to the DNC and his recent breakdown.

Well, I wouldn't say most polls. But he pulled real close as the RNC and the FBI wrap up all came in a short window and really hurt Clinton. With that said, Trumps percentages didn't increase as much as Hillary dropped.

Also, Gary Johnson and Weld are both old republicans. I've said for awhile that the Libertarian party fielded the best GOP ticket in a long time.

Oh absolutely. If somehow Trump's campaign completely imploded it could be entirely possible for the Lib ticket to make a decent showing. Even as it is we could very likely them take Utah in Nov.

When was the last time a 3rd party candidate won a state in the general? Did Ross perot in 92? Or longer?
