You can't not be a Christian if you worship the Christian Satan and Lucifer.

So at least the Christians can't claim she's not a Christian president.

Did KY spend any of its own money on kynect? This says they spent less than $154 million of the $254 million Washington made available to LY for building the site and marketing it. Which is pretty good.

Edit: I'll also say that McConnell has continued to say Obamacare should be repealed. But if that were to happen he'd be harming a fair amount of his own state and a lot of people wouldn't realize it until it's too late. I'm sure some would think they'd replace it with something but they've had 8 years to come up with something and so far it's only been about repeal. If you simply repeal it and wait to replace it, you're going to have a lot of people suffering in that interim with no timetable for when it would be fixed... again.
Oh fuck Obamacare -.-. My dad has S4 Prostate Cancer, and they bailed on him and left him with a massive bill. And I love how Obama himself is totally pretending that nothing is wrong with the healthcare insurance system he created.

This is the nightmare scenario that all the doomsdayers proclaimed would happen when Obamacare was being debated/implemented. Horror stories of socialized medicine leading to people not receiving treatment due to an administrative morass that leaves some behind.

Of course that position ignores the fact that some people would die the exact same way without Obamacare.

I'm sorry your father is sick.

So much for that would-be assassin: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...ally/93385996/

Turns out it was just Trumpies overreacting to dissension. At least this one was genuinely protesting Trump, unlike that black Trump supporter that they kicked out.

His name shows up in an attachment related to some global intelligence firm. Isn't there a pretty reasonable chance that's just his day job?

Who is "they"? Was he on Medicaid or did he have a private insurer? Or was he not insured at all?

His name and address are listed in an excel file. List of name/addresses looks self-selected, likely online, because they have representation of almost all states roughly proportional to population but it's not perfect (plus failures/duplicates). Creation date of the file was in 2011 by "JRG"

It's not possible to intuit a purpose from the data on the list.

My parents hate Obamacare. I love it. Costs them a ton more now then they ever paid in the past. My insurance however is insanely good and barely costs anything through work, not to mention Obama kept me under my parents longer which helped fill that gap.

One of the things Obamacare didn't go far enough with is tackling health care costs and that's the main reason you see the premiums you do today. The ACA was decently effective when it came to the insurance agencies, but the primary things that drive the cost of care is the care itself, not the insurance.

I can post numbers later when I wake up more, but here's the key thing. If you reduce revenue (costs) then you're cutting off money flow to somebody. Hospitals, drug companies, and medical device manufacturers would all cry foul as soon as you try to rein in costs. Depending on how much you try to cut costs, drug companies would claim they can't make new life saving drugs, medical device companies would be along the same vein of not having the funds to make the next innovative thing like the MRI machine, and hospitals could cry foul over a litany of things.

I think it's important to keep in mind that the Obamacare rate hikes are disproportionately affecting red and rural states -- those states are the most likely states to have refused Medicaid expansion which has been one of the most successful components of Obamacare. They also have older and sicker populations compared to the rest of the country.

It's also important to remember that if you get rid of Obamacare, these people who are complaining about the increases in premiums now could be facing even steeper prices or less coverage than they're getting.

The law needs some tweaks and fixes, and at some point we probably should move to single-payer, but what it's doing now is overwhelmingly better than the alternative.

I didn't ask him that, but he got one(insurer) through Obamacare since he said that was he was using one until the bill jumped. He is still getting treatment, and got a nice fundraiser going. My dad will make it.

He is kind of in a bad spot though(this all bad timing, he found out 8 months ago that he had it. Prostate Cancer typically shows no signs til stage 4). He's 1. Trying to get disability. 2. Not old enough for retirement. 3. Not old enough for Social Security. I don't know if he can get medicaid. He's still having to work.

Not trying to gain any sympathy here(though it would be a big lie to say I'm not worried), my point is that while it may be cheaper through Obamacare, these insurers did not expect it would draw a lot of really ill folks, hence they are having to cover large bills and can't hack it.

it is the original sin of Obamacare. he sucked all the oxygen out of healthcare reform to affect partial health insurance reform.

anyways the latest, and likely last, batch of major national polls show Hillary's descent ending and her numbers stabilized at around +2. when you consider the expanded electorate, her superior voter turnout ground game, and the greater margins baked into the final tallies with early voting that occurred when her lead was wider it appears our gal is headed to victory, unless there is major and unidentified voter shift over the next 48 hours.
