I'm still bitter about the primary. I 100% don't want Trump to be president, but my desire to not have Hilary be president is a solid 95%. Getting anything out of the second Clinton white house as far as FOIA and the like is going to be nearly impossible.
This sort of thing worries me a great deal: http://www.politico.com/story/2016/0...s-press-227700
Hillary Clinton, rarely seen, rarely heard
Hillary Clinton has never felt comfortable with the traveling political press.
As first lady, she would sometimes arrange travel for herself and Chelsea separate from her husband, partly to avoid the protective pool of reporters assigned to the president. In 2008, she “fought tooth and nail,” former aides said, to avoid sharing the plane with her press corps and relented only when her campaign was running out of money and had to either bring the reporters on board or downgrade to commercial.
And in 2016, with plenty of cash and a winning position in the race, Clinton has managed to keep the press at arm’s length – preserving her private plane as a refuge where the only people around are her trusted campaign aides.
That changes on Labor Day, when the reporters and their press-leery candidate will for the first time board a “Stronger Together”-wrapped 737 from New York to Ohio to Iowa, and remain flying companions for the final stretch of the campaign.
Her team insists Clinton is on board with the set-up, despite her distrust of the national media. "She does understand that there is very good reason why it's important for everyone to be together in the thick of a general election,” said her traveling spokesman Nick Merrill. “We're going wrap the plane in blue and get on it together. There's a desire to be efficient and be able to do things a little more impromptu.”
But closer quarters are no guarantee of a new level of access. “The times she'll go back and schmooze will be few and far between,” predicted one longtime Clinton ally. “She'll send other people back there, instead.”
Indeed, trailing Clinton since she has become the Democratic nominee has been less about developing a relationship with the candidate and more like a sensory deprivation experience.
When she’s speaking at a fundraiser, reporters camped outside can sometimes hear a muffled voice but can rarely make out her actual words. When she’s greeting voters at a coffee shop or on a rope line after a rally, the former secretary of state often looks right through the reporters hovering around her, like they don’t exist. And when she does acknowledge their physical presence, she smiles through the questions barked at her and encourages reporters to sample a coffee, or a chocolate, instead.
You're failing to weigh those against Donald Trump's long, storied history of creating unpaid jobs and shamelessly self-promoting.
Do we really think Hillary is going to fix climate change, sexual harrasment or any of that other vague general shit you just listed? Sorry left all my hope for change somewhere between 08 and 16.
The best argument for Hillary is "shes not Donald" lmao
Word, I mean what with all that quid pro quo legislation she's supported in the past and all those shady policy decisions she's made.
Right?
I guess being the Labor is a step up from being a Super Predator.

My b for expecting more out of our elected public servants.
We all know the president has limited powers. I think Obama's biggest fuck up was trying to be so middle ground while they had power for his first 2 years. After that, you can only really blame republicans who stonewalled and were "No to Obama even if it's one of our ideas."
* SCOTUS: the only reason I want her to win. But her pick will still be someone without much teeth to get anything done.
* She wants to raise the minimum wage because it gets her easy votes. It took Sanders to push her to $15.
* sexual harassment, religious persecution, national origin discrimination, housing segregation: what is she going to do about any of this, really? She'll make some motivational speeches she didn't write and call it good.
Only thing wrong with the emails is that it's clear she did it entirely to avoid FOIA requests. She's as paranoid as Nixon about people finding out what she's up to.
She supported $10/12 without him. But clearly she's just as horrible as the guy that wants to repeal minimum wage's very existence because she doesn't want to raise it as far.
Basically if you have ever been fed up with Republicans going "THANKS OBAMA" or "What has Obama done?" then, by default, you should support any Democratic President because they will do things that make an impact in these areas as a simple matter of course.* sexual harassment religious persecution, national origin discrimination, housing segregation: what is she going to do about any of this, really? She'll make some motivational speeches she didn't write and call it good.
The very fact they acknowledge these are issues that must be addressed is important; the way the GOP denies that things are issues is a problem in and of itself because that denial means they move to strike down regulations and laws because the problem is non-existent (see climate change regulations, employment regulations, etc. under the Bush 43 era)
- sexual harassment: SCOTUS Justices that won't issue decisions that gut Title VII (which has happened three times in the past five years); actually believing it's a thing that exists and is important; being willing to pass legislation like the Ledbetter act; not sending the message that this is okay by hiring people who should be disgraced for sexual harassment to top advisor positions.
- religious persecution: Not trying to ban Muslims from entering the country or creating a national data base.
- national origin discrimination: See above
- housing segregation: Not thinking it's fine for businesses to do what they want .
And given what has come out, where we've seen that the cover-up was 15x worse than the crime, that she wouldn't even pull strings to get a VISA approved for $13M+.... what are you scared of?Only thing wrong with the emails is that it's clear she did it entirely to avoid FOIA requests. She's as paranoid as Nixon about people finding out what she's up to.
Person that constantly gets accused of scandals and corruption tired of people seeing imaginary smoke from imaginary wildfires and becomes extremely private? More at 11.
