it's what happens when you call people idiots for making their choice. it doesn't matter how right you are, it simply reinforces belief in the rightness of their decision. gotta de-escalate by coddling them and gently nudging them into thinking rationally, no matter how much it sticks in your caw.
and yes, i voted for clinton. really really wishing bernie had won right now, but clinton struck me as the best of the lot after seeing the various candidates stances on different issues. jill stein was mostly in the right place but she didn't have all her facts straight and her stances were a bit on the... ineloquent side. clintons were well written and backed up with facts, which either means she's very smart or surrounds herself with a smart team... either of which is good to have as a president. sadly, smarts doesn't exactly equal social smarts, and people like gred entrenching the opposite sides beliefs wasn't helping. i couldn't even discuss politics with people, because the instant you mention ANY kind of politics you get people saying they aren't going to talk about it and are leaving if you even mention one more word.
i mean, theres even been studies showing that overwhelming facts just cause the opposite effect that is desired - you gotta help them reach the decision on their own, not try and cram it down their throats.
