R/politics full of shade throwing holy shit.
These millions of people with added insurance do not have coverage, they have some horrible plan with a deductible bigger than they will ever meet. The people "benefiting" the most are being supported by the taxpayer, while their premiums rise as well. I'm all for single payer, I wish we would just rip the bandaid off and do it. The overhead on these insurance companies alone must be astronomical. Lots of things need fixing. The pharmaceutical and Pharmacy Benefit Manager system is a hot fucking mess. We apply capitalism to a market with no competition due to regulation and red tape.
I would choose #4. The Paris Agreement doesn't go far enough, but if global warming hits runaway status it is probably going to have a much larger negative effect on America than the positive effects of Obamacare, finance reform, and the Iran nuclear deal.
We're past the point with climate change where it's some "100 years in the future" abstract threat. We are going to see substantial changes to the continental US coastline within our lifetime.
What are we looking at btw, 5-10million less voters this year than every other election this century?
Okay seriously is Gred okay?
Been thinking about that whole The Berenstein/Berenstain Bears thing and have come to the conclusion that we're just in the parallel universe where Trump won.
I want to be clear - I support Obamacare only compared to the system it replaced. It could get a little bit better (increase the 3:1 age-banding, maybe allow some lower benefit plans without, say, mental health or maternity care, selling insurance across state lines, reinstate the risk corridor program [fuck you Marco Rubio]) but those would be marginal improvements at best.
I want single payer health care, and I also see no path for it politically, period. I can't in good conscience crap on Obamacare for being worse than single payer when I see no possibility for single payer being implemented. Feel free to accuse me of lacking imagination, but I don't see it.
i hope newt gingrich sets up a private email server
Did you guys see her concession speech? Audio was terrible on the version I watched, but wow. 100% consistent with the tone of the campaign. Very classy, encouraged hope for the future, quoted scripture.

Also, if Newt sets up a private e-mail server you'll never hear about it because no one actually gives a fuck.
