Keep blaming everyone but the shit awful candidate the Dems put forward guys. Continually making excuses and demonizing the other side obviously worked out great in this election.

It is. Assuming that my way is the best way and the people who think otherwise are just uneducated certainly isn't how I want to run the country, and it isn't how I'd want anyone else to. Democrats have had this problem for a long time. It's only going to get worse assuming everyone views the people who voted for Trump as racist misogynists who swill beer all day while watching Fox News.

If you're ready to dismiss 50 million Americans because they don't vote the way you want them to, I question your moral authority to govern.

Do you really think this would happen though? It will be another 4 years of Thanks Obama, it is unamerican to talk bad about the president, and how the democrats in congress refuse to compromise.

He's not going to help these people, they've been voting against their own interests for decades and refuse to leave their safe space of post-WWII industrial America that was only ever a temporary economic phenomena.

The world has left them behind and after voting big government out of their lives for decades they now want big papa Trump to come in and start trade wars to subsidize their way of life, and it's not going to happen.

We deserve this man as president.

Insulting so many people for so long is wrong and leads to exactly this, a surge in exactly what the 'smart' side was angrily shaming for so long

People need to stop vilifying people with 'wrong' opinions. Maybe they're a dumb person - they can't exactly help it if they were born with an iq of <90 afaik. Maybe they're a smart person, but got fkd by circumstances of where they live/what they're exposed to - we all know how divisive the media can be. And for god's sake, why is everyone 18+ expected to have a fully formed opinion on politics when a majority of these people don't spend nearly enough time checking out a single fact - and that's ok btw! Loads of people need to focus more on their own relationships, job prospects, skill development, etc etc than they do on digging through trump/hillary facts

Do you know any of the poor, rural types that this will effect? My sister's in-laws all fit this mold, and they are the "temporarily embarrassed millionaire" types. The wealthy will help them out some day, its just isn't the time yet. They decry people taking government handouts but have no problem jumping in the line themselves when they get pregnant at 16 (three people in their family so far). I think those are the type who were pro-Trump instead of anti-Clinton and won't ever admit it if things go bad for them.

I'm not dismissing them. Just pointing out that they bought into the scorched earth tactics of the Republican party and have paved the way for Democrats to do the same when the chickens come home to roost. Democrats saved them from the worst financial crisis in decades and they decided they want to go back to the policies that created that situation in the first place.

Also think it's laughable to talk about moral authority to govern when these people just elected the most racist, corrupt person to the presidency in decades. You have a lot of work cut out for yourself, my friend, if you want to save your party from the disaster it just teed up for itself.

Can't win against the most racist, corrupt person on the planet, not sure what that says about the viability of the candidate presented.

No you silly, it's the fault of the voters (both the 59 million racists that voted for Trump and all the Bernie Bros) and the evil scumbag tactics that the GOP uses to control the vote (that the Dems would obviously never use).

I really want to know what it must look like from the perspective of someone who thinks that Bernie wouldn't have been drowned in the same rhetoric that Trump drowned Hillary in. I've tried, honestly, to entertain that mentality and I just can't.

Seriously, the "red scare" that Trump would have put up would have been /at least/ as effective as "emails". I respect that you feel passionately for your boy, but just like you want people to admit Hillary wasn't good enough to beat Trump, you're doing yourself a pretty serious disservice if you don't think that applies to Bernie as well.

Trump spun fear about a topic that Americans have never been afraid of before, a corrupt female in power. Do you really, HONESTLY, don't think he couldn't have spun fear that Americans HAVE been afraid of before?

I went back to the first thread again to read a few pages for the lulz. I saw Blubb quoting NinjaLotter, Ksan worried super early on (like June 2015), and many people dismissing Trump for all the valid reasons that never caught on.

I think Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and probably Marco Rubio are all more formidable candidates than Romney was.

Granted, Hilldog is a motherfucking monster, so good luck
It's pretty unbelievable everything that's happened.
