I actually had a related thought last night about that.

Wondering if Trump's victory will make other nations more mindful of embracing these kinds of political movements.

Like will they look at their own elections and think to themselves "are we electing our own Trump?"

There are plenty of people literally calling everyone who voted for Trump a sexist racist bigot piece of shit. In the PC Principal thread, there was a video of an idiot who drove by a trump supporter, flipped him off infront of his kids, then was shocked when he chased her down, and told the cop "its her first ammendment right to do what she did to that redneck bigot".

There are literally riots and protests over Trump winning. Last i checked, a strawman is a fallacy argument based on a figurative scenario, a "what if". This isnt a "what if", this is actually happening.

do me a favor and go back and find any posts of mine in that thread where i condone anyone saying that all trump supporters are sexist, racist, bigoted pieces of shit. (if you want to know what my own thoughts on trump supporters are, feel free to ask).

or go back to my original statement when i state that it's brain damage listening to trump supporters telling me things will be ok (when in fact i am the minority and i'm the one who will end up suffering). or that i in turn condone any violent acts on the other side. or where i claim literally anything on that front saying what you are trying to imply i'm saying.

I think we should have no-questions-asked absentee voting in every state so people can vote by mail. There's some argument to be made for having a minor barrier to voting so that the people who truly could not care less won't bother voting, but we should make it possible for everyone who cares enough to jump some small, free hurdle can vote.

But it's never going to be, especially in the states where it would matter most.

It's practically a pipe dream on par with getting rid of the electoral college.

I know a handful of people who were going to vote for Trump in Nevada who got their absentee ballots in the mail too late. There are a lot of things that could've helped dems, the biggest would have been a candidate that actually campaigned.

Why? I could see Republicans going along because it might increase turn-out in rural areas (people who have to drive quite a way to vote) and Democrats would want it because their voters have jobs and can't miss shifts to vote.
