Yup, I think Biden wouldn't been a guarantee.

So quick question before I pass out for the night. Can the Democrats fight the republicans at all on any measure?

Yes, Senate doesn't have 60 votes. For what that's worth. Doesn't mean they won't be able to push certain things through especially if some Dems turn like they did on the original ACA but who the fuck knows at this point.

See the part where i said people didnt get off their ass to vote cuz they figured "no one would vote for a racist bigot idiot".

Lets also not neglect to mention that they are literally protesting because they didnt get their way, despite it being put to a vote (yes some votes worth more, etc), but ONE HUNDRED MILLION people neglected (or couldnt cause of hurdles) to vote.

I just hope they can mitigate whatever disaster is heading our way. Pence scares me more then Trump and apparently he will be doing all the work.

He already had the charisma of the lovable uncle who always says crazy shit. Hindsight is 20/20 but this was a huge misstep from the DNC. Other than his son dying, I'm sure he was encouraged to step aside in solidarity for HRC. I doubt HRC was Obama's first choice to succeed him.

Now he's just way too old to be considered an option in 2020.

Honestly, expect Republicans to do a lot of damage, but don't underestimate the backlash that will occur over it. 2004 and 2008 taught us that majorities can be fleeting. Nothing is forever.

Not if the Senate gets rid of the filibuster, which, honestly, who knows if the Republicans will burn that bridge or not.

Programs I listened to considered nuking the filibuster an extreme option to get a supreme court nominee through. (If Hillary + Dem Senate)

I have no doubts that this is on the table for republicans.

Yup, HRC pulled all her 40 years of political weight too make this happen and yet a con artist who wasnt even serious let alone a politician wins the election. That must hurt pretty bad.

I think McConnell will resist on legislation because he knows it will be much easier for Dems to hit 50+ than 60+, but he will be under immense pressure to do so.

I think the first SCOTUS nomination is going to be ugly. Tea Party levels of anger from the left. Republicans paved the way.

Everything that happened in those few years becomes a pre-existing condition *only if* you let your insurance lapse (I mean, technically it's still a pre-existing condition, just one that had to be covered). If you maintained continuous coverage, it remained a covered condition. If you re-upped before it lapsed (and there was some degree of leeway), it remained covered.

The debates between Trump and Biden would have been a sight to behold.

Trump opens his mouth spouting some nonsense....

    Biden:

    Spoiler: show

Democrats paved the way; Republicans just added extra lanes. Also: Republicans can probably be patient for two years, and dominate the senate in 2018.

Ah, I just remember it was loop hole insurance companies used to deny coverage when things got expensive. People didn't have the money to fight it.
