nig you actin like hillary didn't lose hundreds of thousands of votes just by being herself, bernie wasn't under fbi investigation, didn't have a trail of scandal going back decades, didn't get caught rigging the primary, didn't have a spirit cooking campaign manager, and wasn't a woman lol. you guys act like beating trump would have been some monumental task, when just last week he didn't have snowball's chance in hell per this forum.
Hope she ain't shit like your last waifu.

Trump wanted the Presidency just to tell everyone for the rest of his life that he was President. While I am highly disappointed in the election result, I don't think he will be the genesis of a nuclear holocaust in the next four years. There is way too much fixation on the Executive Branch right now. The biggest concern for everyone should be the impending/potential failure of bipartisan checks and balances.
Executive Branch: Republican
Senate: Republican majority, but filibuster option remains
House: Republican
Supreme Court: Republican-ish after Scalia's replacement goes through (Kennedy is on the line)
Trump could conceivably name a few more justices as well depending on retirements. That is what scares me; it's the type of perfect storm where you could conceivably see Roe v Wade being challenged (highly doubtful, but I never thought it would even be a possibility before this election cycle).
Oh that's what they meant by once you go black you don't go back.
Well considering the reason he won is that people in the remnants of the industrial midwest and northeast bought his line and false sympathy for their economic plight. And to be fair, they sure as hell rejected the idea of being labeled as bigots for their animosity toward foreigners, who didn't take their jobs but were scapegoated for businesses flocking overseas for cheap labor and outsourcing (which ironically Trump has been neck-deep in since his first day running the company he inherited).
Hillary and the Dems simply lost because they were more focused on pushing social issues when they should have been pushing domestic economic revival like they did in 2008. And even then I don't think it would've helped because of all the poisoning of her character over the past 30 years. Likewise, Bernie wouldn't have succeeded either, because the character assassination would've just been non-stop fearmongering against socialists instead.
Now that the demographics are out, Gred gonna come in here with the wrath of a lover scorned over how Dems lost this because democrats who have jobs they lost to automation and globalization think Trump is going to bring them back. Is this how an entire industry changes political parties?
Trump won against a billion dollar political machine, possibly the most well oiled machine in our history, 95% of media was against him, his own party against him for most of the race and he still won. I dont see how you guys think Bernie would have fared worse than Hillary, when he had a massive youth following. Turn out for him would have been insane. I guess Sath is right no use in what ifs, but I think it's crazy to think he would have done worse than Hillary given all her faults. He had a real movement behind him, and they just snuffed it out and trotted around Katy Perry and Springsteen concerts as rallies because she couldn't draw her own crowd.
The most frustrating thing for me is seeing these people who "lost their jobs" over globalization and trade agreements think that they will get their jobs back. From what I understand, those same people they are voting into office, are the same people who enacted those very same measures that enabled globalization and sending jobs overseas.
To think that Industries that rely on Automation and Cheap Labor to mass produce their products on the cheap, will want to bring back jobs to the US and have to spend more, and ultimately charge more in a sagging economy where wages have been stagnating for decades, all sounds pretty ridiculous to me. They call it Free Market for a reason. The hypocrisy is unbearable and will be so for a long time to come.
It will be equally unbearable seeing Mitch McConnell smiling for the next two years.
I wonder if Hasselhoff wil be alive in 40 years when the new wall goes down to sing Looking for Freedom...
Honest question, if you guys could survive 8 years of Bush Jr., 5 years of Nixon, how bad can be Trump?
Also if you see after first Obama election 5 million less people went to vote for democratic party, after him Clinton got 6 less million voters.
Maybe an important part of those people not showing up were because they thought Clinton was gonna win easily and just stayed home, same with Obama second election.
And yea of course some people didnt go vote for her just because they dont like her.

This. Hillary got like 10mil less votes than '08 Obama, but sure, it's the R's that won it when he didn't even more votes than what, Romney? D's had no enthusiasm, or dare I say, energy. Bernie was the energy of the Democratic primary. He managed over 40% of the primary vote with no name recognition and no elected D's on his side. Being the nominee would have gotten him both of those and he'd have the energy. Bernie would have trounced it.
Honestly, my assessment is this: the media and Dems went easy on Trump (yes, easy) because they thought America was more decent than it is, and because the media as an institution is more craven and broken than we expected. There was dirt on Trump that could have swayed enough voters to make the difference, but media + Dems held their fire because they thought it was unnecessary and the groundwork was laid for Trump to retaliate because of precedent set by Gawker. I know people are pointing fingers all over the place, but this is the simplest explanation: Trump was allowed to lie about virtually everything and not be held to the same standard as the woman running.
Making predictions is obviously a pointless exercise right now, but I think those people are going to get a rude wakeup call when their health care gets worse, when their jobs don't come back, and when the next financial crash leaves them in the dust while the "coastal elites" are the ones who continue to reap the benefits of the rigged economy. Now that the demographics are out, Gred gonna come in here with the wrath of a lover scorned over how Dems lost this because democrats who have jobs they lost to automation and globalization think Trump is going to bring them back. Is this how an entire industry changes political parties?
We're about to see what real corruption looks like. If you thought people had a hard time accepting W because of Bush v Gore, just wait and see what kind of reception Trump gets. He sure doesn't represent anything I want this country to stand for.
I found this image very telling.

Most elections look like that though.
