Trump presidency is going to be so fucking lit. His transition team is already holding hill meetings talking about how he will issue an executive order on Inauguration Day repealing ACA regs (may not be legal but think he can delay). meanwhile Barack has sold him on 26 and pre-existing. Lit lit lit
Completely misread that. My b fam
Fuck this election cycle. Now it's affecting my workplace. There is a community effort to tell immigrants that they are welcome and people are writing if front of businesses these messages. We support the message, but choose not to have it in front of our business (last time we made a statement, a immigrant, actually, began running a smear campaign against us). Now the community is sending people in to complain. We wanted to make a compromise where is says "Everyone is Welcome," but that's turning into a Black Lives Matter vs All Lives Matter argument. Damned if we do, damned if we don't.
Without the mandate or subsidies we're going to witness an incredible death spiral.
Even though I need private insurance for my family, I'm kinda excited to see how it goes!
Lots of people are going to die if this happens.
You might be able to ask the community leadership to come in to talk about it, and explain your position. I'd phrase it as "We do not want to put up signs, because we feel that would politicize our establishment and expose us to retribution, which has happened to us before. However, we support your message, and wish to make a charitable contribution in your organization's name. Do you have any preference? Otherwise, one of our employees has a blahblahblah (personal shit here that ties you to a specific charity you'll choose if they don't have a preference)"
Flip that shit around on them so that if they're antagonistic with you they're no longer chastising you for not supporting them, but discouraging you from making charitable donations. also, the order in which you say those things is important. decline the signs first, THEN bring up the donation. That's very important. People tend to respond to the last thing you said to them, so if you end with talking about charities, that's what they'll respond to.
ya, read back a page or two and it started coming together. thanks
It's not Trump himself doing it, but a combination of factors. He fills the vacancy in the SC, and states start passing all kinds of crazy bills to get around current laws. Law gets challenged, goes to SCOTUS, and gets upheld. Good-bye Planned Parenthood clinics in red states for example.

This would royally fuck over insurance companies in the private market too, I don't know how any would be profitable and so I don't know why they wouldn't pull out of the the private market altogether.
There's no way the Republicans in Congress are going to go for this right? They'll have to see the train wreck coming...
