Sooooooo, does that mean there really are people being hired to purposely reduce a protest into violence and destroy their message/image? Sounds crazy and feels bad just typing it, but can't imagine these guys having the money to go around like this.

I do believe some of the protestors are being goaded into being more crazy by some of the radical groups, yeah. I don't know if I'd say somebody is trying to discredit them, but it could be, crazier things have happened this election. Most people no doubt just want to express themselves with a normal protest, even if I completely disagree with some of you guys I trust you more than that.

Yes. My main point was the fact that the same protestors show up at locations across the country and have been doing it all election though. I can't find the pics on my HDD, folder I save shit in is too big, but around the time of the O'Keefe video people started pointing out the reoccurring faces. Like the guy who wore the KKK hood and got punched, pretty sure he was one of them that showed up at multiple locations. There's also a guy who I remember walked past during his interview that also showed up at the Arizona event (previously Missouri area). Maybe one of the other memers in here has the pics, I can't find them in the 4chan archives.

This is not really logical. You're not going to have thousands of people in multiple cities across the country who are all paid actors. If that's where you're going, you need better evidence for that, otherwise it's just paranoia.

This kind of shit is the same kind of thing that gets peddled when people claim that Sandy Hook was a hoax and that the people there were crisis actors. It's easy to fake information and mislead people. Be skeptical of things that require you to go far beyond credible evidence.

Use the simplest explanation: people are mad that a demagogue got elected president and they want to express their anger and frustration.

Also realize that the moment you start hearing Trump, his people, or his supporters calling protesters, the media, or the opposition "traitors", a "cancer", or holding large counter-rallies, those are the red flags that authoritarians in other countries have signaled before the real bad stuff starts happening.

You'd be better off buying into the story that there are people sabotaging Clinton's peaceful protests, cause if you arent, you're saying that the people turning the peaceful protests into riots are Clinton supporters.

Since she's (Gabbard) been mentioned a few times, I looked her up and noticed she was born in American Samoa. Wouldn't that make her a US national at worst and a non natural-born citizen at best? Meaning, she would not be eligible for the presidency and even if somehow she managed to get up there, if the birther 'scandal' was an issue for President Obama, I can only imagine the shitstorm that would follow her around.

The complication arises when reading the presidential eligibility clause in the Constitution. "Natural born citizens" is the language used, yet the term not defined in the Constitution itself and often interpreted to mean those born in US soil excluding territories. Note that eligibility to serve in Congress stipulates no such requirement.

Someone with more knowledge of constitutional law than I could chime in and correct me. Having been born in a territory, that is the common interpretation I was taught.

To be fair. This generation voted overwhelmingly in favor of Clinton. Just need baby boomers to die off.

I think there's a more important problem now than that.

The children in this country just watched as this guy became president, despite his atrocious campaign. And a good number of them were cheering all the way. They're just as emboldened as he is. This will pay dividends to the GOP going forward.

Ted Cruz was born in Canada. When we hashed this out during the primaries the broad consensus was that there would be no significant challenge to his eligibility to become President because at least one of his parents was born in the US.

Also, exit polls are biased towards young people who are motivated enough to vote. There could be a large, Republican youth base that doesn't see the value in voting (yet). They'd be dumb, but that's kind of the Republican shtick right now.

Also, people get more conservative and " 'member?" when they get older.

Looking at my younger siblings and my students, I don't really think it's that we become more conservative so much as it is everyone else becomes so much more liberal that the hyper progressive protester you were 15 years ago is suddenly considered a moderate.

I guess, truth be told, I don't really understand the whole genders/pronouns thing and I don't like it. But I also know it doesn't affect me in the slightest so let other people do what they want.

Which is funny, because "keep government out and let me do what i want" is kind of the maxim of conservatives, but there's an enormous qualifier in that it can't be anything they don't like in their own personal lives.

I'm 41, and have always been Democrat. Maybe because I'm a minority, not very religious and was never in the military?

I've actually found the opposite to be true for me. I'm much more moderate, leaning liberal. Maybe it's my profession but I see nothing wrong with advocating for basic human rights.
