As an immigrant in the US I just find it hilarious that you guys think either Hillary or Trump give a shit about LGBT, racism, or any of these other issues. American politics and media are so dishonest and only pursue their own agenda, not your agenda. All the Polish I know voted for Obama because he promised them to work on immigration laws, did he do anything? Nope. These fuckers say shit that gets them elected. I never cared for Trump but I can't even fathom supporting Hillary. American politics needs a change and if Trump is the start to it so be it. No way Hillary would've done anything.

I'm a little late to this convo, but there was a bipartisan bill that passed the Senate in 2013 that Obama supported. Then speaker of the House Boehner chose to not bring it up for a vote and killed it.

what inflation? the last five years has been the lowest inflationary period since the early 60s.

I wonder where I'm getting the idea that things are going up in cost consistently every year. Food may not be, but the amount of food you get in a package is going down but the price is the same. The quality of food is also seemingly going down unless you want to pay much more for it.

Maybe it's more of a national thing. It may be hitting here in Canada a little differently in the States (it could just be me also). I just know that there are various services that seem to increase 3% every year no matter what. Mind you, these are cable/internet/cell phone and we have three companies running that shit show that seem to be making deals behind closed doors to keeep raising prices.

Gas seems steady, but we have a regulatory body maintaining the price now so it doesn't jump up by obscene amounts over night. It seems to be floating around $1.07/liter now, though it can trend up to $1.33/liter.

We were lucky enough to get an annual increase at work this year, that was immediately swallowed up by a sizeable increase to our medical coverage so we got very little.

Our tax rate/property taxes and mortgage seem steady. Maybe it is just me then.

I'm so glad I don't live in a big city. About 100 or so tried to protest at the Trump Condo here, which Trump hasn't even owned in 20 years and they were ran off by police pretty quickly.

exactly this. sometimes i blank my mind about all of what trump has said and done, cause of risk of insanity. then i'm reminded of the hell on earth that his cabinet will bring.
