smh fam
and lol at Debra Messing overacting
Conservative radio doesn't believe that Russia and Putin were behind the hacks because the CIA didn't give them enough proof. So they decided to talk about how they think the Obama administration tried to mess with the Israel election.
I talked to a lot of people during the election, and most that didn't vote for Hillary said it was the email and wikileaks scandal.
FUCK YOU to everyone trying to downplay the hacks.
Remember, all it would have taken to flip the result is 1 in every 250 Trump voters voting Hillary instead in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, and one in every thousand Trump voters in Michigan.
Keep that in mind when trying to determine if something may have ultimately mattered.
can you begin to imagine their reaction if Russians had hacked both DNC and RNC emails but only released the ones that made Trump look bad? the hypocrisy is staggering, moreso when you remember the great savior Ronald Reagan made his foreign policy bones by opposing the Soviet Union and his party has traditionally been the hawkish one on Russia. i mean a common conservative line of attack on Obama for the last three years has been the failure of the Russian Reset and his impotent response to Putin's expansionism. staggering, the hypocrisy.
Since when is phishing considered hacking?
For as long as hacking (in its current form related to computers) has been part of the public vernacular. Most of what the world perceives as hacking is usually little more then phishing or social engineering.
If you watch the documentary Mr. Robot, you'll realize that 90% of hacking is phishing/social engineering and the remaining 10% is technology.
Question: does it matter?

It actually has massive ramifications on the public eye.
"The Russians hacked the US Election and caused Trump to win" sounds really bad to the common folk. However, if the Russians "hacked" the US Election by sending some low level pleb a malware executable in their email and it gave them full access to whatever information they need, it begs the question as to why this idiot who will open random executable files on their govt systems is anywhere near this kind of sensitive information. I get that there are stupid people who still fall for this, but the IT guys where I work stress the importance to never open executable attachments in emails, espeically from people you dont know, and I work in fucking retail. How someone who works closely with the election could fall for a phishing scam is absolutely terrible. My point is, disguising an executable as a backdoor is an insult to the term "hacking", and is removing a lot of the blame from the idiot who opened the backdoor.
There was no malware here, just really terrible human incompetance.

Best,

1-Delavan is saying "I typoed and meant illegitimate". Presuming there was no auto-correct, he wasnt even typing out "an illegitimate email", as he used the article "a" for an adjective beginning in a consonant, instead of "an". Once again, this could just be auto-correct, however my attempt to trigger this auto-correction on gmail failed.Sara,
This is a legitimate email. John needs to change his password immediately, and ensure that two-factor authentication is turned on his account.
He can go to this link: https://myaccount.google.com/security to do both. It is absolutely imperative that this is done ASAP.
If you or he has any questions, please reach out to me at [redacted]
2-Wouldnt the first reaction be to ask when their PW was last changed and if its still following the guidelines they told them to follow ("X characters, include random numbers, symbols and use small and capital letters, not based on anything people would know about you such as your kids name"), not show the same panic that the email displayed about changing the password ASAP?
3-The original email was dated March 19, yet WikiLeaks dates their archive of Clinton emails going live March 16? Am I missing something there, or do the Russians know how to time travel?
You're not missing something, the Russians have time travel capabilities but only use them for emails.
