We have machines in Congress that automatically sign letters with the Congressman's signature. They're pretty neat.

Damn, why you gotta slam dunk on his happiness like that?
So hurt. Does it count there's some fragrance on it?
No chill on Capitol Hill.

Also going to post it here because somebody will use it in an argument again and I'll be too lazy to correct them by that point because I'll have to actually search on google for it.

Don't worry, Brianna Wu will save all of us:
GamerGate critic Brianna Wu to run for Congress

rofl
"I'm not going to feel good about making games for the next four years with Donald Trump in the White House," Wu said. "I wouldn't feel good about making things to distract us when so many terrible things are going on."
Wouldn't she have to like... actually make games for that to matter?
A ton of those reports that came out about Trump supporters harassing Muslims/sending death threats/etc that all came out around the election had the cases closed in the last week or so because they were proven fake, including that woman in New York who got arrested for fabricating the story. http://www.newsweek.com/yasmin-sewei...e-532525?rx=us
lol @ state officials claiming the church burning wasn't politically motivated. I'm sure the dude spray painting "vote trump" on the side of his church as he burned it to the ground had zero political reason for doing so.
Trying to hand-wave away the increase in hate crimes after Trump's election as some big nation-wide false flag operation is both disingenuous and dangerous.
I've seen more hoaxes than actual hate crimes. Seen a lot of reports. Perhaps we should compare. Not handwaving trying to understand reality.
The woman who claimed Trump supporters were going to set her on fire, was determined to not have happened yesterday as well. The guy spaying nazi symbols all over Long Island? Was a jew mad about "percieved slights"
This idiot yesterday was clearly faked at initial report.
Seen some burying of reports on the hate crimes against whites: http://nypost.com/2016/12/05/report-...st-white-kids/
Who are these hoaxes helping? Do they just do enough initial damage to make everyone think the KKK and Nazis are coming back? I think all know about the boy who cried wolf and it's future consequences.
We'll know when something legit happens because CNN will be blasting it non stop 24/7.
People who file false reports should be (and are) punished, but let's not turn this into a "Duke Lacross Case so Campus Rape Totally Doesn't Exist" thing.
SPLC article on the topic if it helps.
I guess if you want you can go with the_donald response and say that this is an SJW PC liberal commie cuck source, in which case I don't think I have much that can help you. While it is almost certain that more false reports will be uncovered, and the SPLC will be quick to update our database, the right-wing narrative that this wave of incidents are all hoaxes simply doesn’t stand up to the numbers. Counting all 13 false reports (listed at the bottom of this post), of which only two were counted in our previous reporting, amounts to just over 1 percent of the total number of incidents collected in this update.
I wont go that far but if you're going to ignore that NYPost article about the shady unverified SPLC reporting then we wont be helping each other much.
Do hate crimes happen? Of course. A wave sweeping the nation of actual violent hate crimes? I don't think so. I don't consider someone saying "build the wall" a hate crime personally.
I guess it's a good thing the SPLC doesn't have a "Wall Chanting" category in there? Also I can't find where their figure about that comes from, the times I can find SPLC mentioning people bringing up the wall was accompanied by people throwing around racial epithets and talking about shock collars and whatnot, which I'd like to think makes it cross the threshold.
Sorry, I guess I sort of passed it over before since the NYPost isn't really what I call a reputable source. Let's first get rid of the editorializing- seriously, why do people constantly bitch about slanted media all the while buying everything from articles that writes lines like this when it's being filed under "News" and not "Editorials":
It's obviously written in such a way to make give conspiracy theorists a hard-on. But ignoring all that, if we take that this assertion is true, what does that prove other than that some assholes are also being dicks to White people? What you should be asking for is a side-by-side comparison of the figures from this years versus incidents after the 2012 election or something.Asked last week to provide the data, SPLC initially said it was having a hard time getting the information “from the researchers.” Pressed, SPLC spokeswoman Kirsten Bokenkamp finally revealed that “about 20 percent answered affirmatively to that question.”
Well for one SPLC admits it doesn't even verify these reports it just waits on some other outlets to prove them as false. So idk it's hard to take any figures seriously, in part because of all the "big" stories this year were just hoaxes. We should look at actual police report/charges imo and compare to last year. There may be a rise, but I don't think you're going to see any alarming figures.
itt just above 1% of reports being proven hoaxes makes us stop believing them
I know you might want to ask where we draw the line here but I really hope it's not ~1%.
The figures would have me believe it doesn't seem to be some kind of widespread problem, at least not when compared to figures of victims not reporting incidents (depending on what crime we're talking here I mean). Yeah it sucks that some people are assholes, but I don't think a situation where people are scared to report because they might be punished severely for filing a false one would be good either.

Up to 8 in just this month.
A higher proportion of fake hate crimes probably make national headlines for the same reason that a higher proportion of fake academic papers make it into high tier journals.
The more surprising something is ("Wow, that's a textbook terrible hate crime!"), the more likely it is to get coverage.
