I watched a few minutes of Ireland-Wales earlier in the day and turned it on right before Wales' Taylor was sent off for the kinda tackle that'll break a dude's leg. It broke Séamus Coleman's right leg, double fractured flapping like a flag in the wind. Production was all over it immediately and no other views were shown. There's plenty of material in the live shot for one to endulge. It was not a good day for Everton to understate it. Neil Taylor was appropriately abused on Twitter.

Liverpool-Everton was a bit too early, but Schalke-Dortmund is not. It's quite frantic in the early going in Gelsenkirchen. Pulisic is not starting after substantial workload and travel while on international duty.

I only have one screen this morning (super fwp) so I'll probably switch to Chelsea-Crystal Palace when it starts.

by what measure, goals scored? Most 1-1 results are probably more interesting than 6-0. Schalke-Dortmund was my only Bundesliga/FOX option anyway. Chelsea-Palace has been (still is) plenty interesting

Elsewhere in England, Hull earn an excellent result with a come-from-behind win against West Ham. They're a completely different team under Silva. Manchester United now have six wins and EIGHT draws at home and almost certainly need to win Europa. Leicester continue the revival with a solid 2-0 win home to Stoke; Ndidi's opener is the goal of the day for sure, an absolute stunner from 25 yards out. Liverpool control the Merseyside derby, unbeaten in the last 14 (7-7-0), but may have lost Sadio Mane at a crucial point in the season. Everton's Barkley got away with two red-worthy challenges; they probably should've finished with 9 men. Spurs get it done today with a tricky visit to Turf Moor but youngster Winks may have ligament damage after going down awkwardly just before halftime. And um.. Watford won and Sunderland is rooted bottom, which is satisfying to me after they've avoided the drop many times in the recent past.
