There's probably six "good" teams in the Pac-12 - Washington, Washington State, USC, Colorado, Utah, and Stanford. But I'm not sure any of them would be considered "great," I thought the Huskies were pretty great until last week. Now, not so much.

But if Washington wins out, they'll likely be finishing the year against two ranked teams - first on the road at currently-undefeated-in-conference-but-lost-to-an-FCS-team Washington State, and second vs. one of Colorado-Utah-USC in the title game. Colorado plays WSU and Utah in the next two weeks, so they'll be a top 10 team if they win those two games, and would be a high quality win for the Huskies if they could make it; all of that will help the Huskies' strength of schedule issue. Whether that's enough to get past second place Big 10 and ACC teams into the playoff, I don't know. I tend to think a 1-loss Pac-12 conference champ gets in, but a 2-loss does not, no matter if that's WSU, Colorado, Utah or Washington.

Man, just saying "Colorado" and "good" in the same sentence is weird to me. I completely forgot about them. Stanford is down compared to the last few years, but they're still 7-3 so yeah. Guess that's true too, so yeah you're right about that. They have solid teams, but nothing stand out, really. At least it isn't the Big 12.

I know, right? Having watched a fair amount of their games this year (and done quite well betting on them), I can assure you that Colorado is good. I don't think they're great, but they're definitely good. So is WSU, for that matter, despite losing their first two games to Eastern Washington and Boise State. The Pac-12 is a bit upside down this year - there's a real chance that the Pac-12 title game could be Washington State vs. Colorado, and Oregon may end up last in the Pac-12 North.

WSU has been super confusing the last two years, opening each year by blowing it against an FCS team (though Eastern Washington is fucking legit for an FCS school), then rolling off huge runs during conference play.

It's a huge if, but if WSU can pull out the next two games we'll be the only PAC-12 team to go undefeated in conference play since it expanded. But that's a big big if

word through the grapevine is Orgeron and Jimbo are in the lead for LSU HC. Thoughts?

I love Orgeron but I don't know if he is smart enough to be the head of a major program.

You think Jimbo would bolt FSU after weathering all the previous shit?

Maybe its just me, but I don't think Jimbo would do well in the SEC either. Not basing that on anything other than gut feeling though.

I'm not sure Jimbo would leave for LSU for a couple of reasons. He has a $5 million buyout if he leaves before 2017, and just last year signed a $44 million extension at FSU through 2022. Jimbo would also want to bring his staff which would not come cheap. In addition, Jimbo was quite displeased at LSU's treatment of Les Miles last year and his early termination this year. I'm not sure how enthusiastic he would be about going to work for their administration. Finally he has a few more personal issues keeping him rooted at FSU. He has custody of his two sons from his divorce last year...and leaving the state could make that messy and contentious with his ex-wife. His oldest son is trying to establish himself as a QB at a pretty well known HS program, and his youngest son has a pretty well documented rare medical condition called Fanconi Anemia, and Jimbo is the head of the Kidz First Fund which is a Tallahassee based charity trying to raise money for research and a cure. I don't see him leaving all of this behind for LSU.

Now, having said that, I believe there will be a head coaching position opening up at the Jacksonville Jaguars next year and I could definitely see them throwing a shit load of money at Jimbo, to which I think he'd have to seriously consider.

Jimbo is 8-1 at FSU as head coach against SEC opponents. Jimbo was OC at LSU and won a natty with them in 2003. Jimbo was QB coach at undefeated 1993 Auburn team that would have been national champion if not for sanctions. The "Jimbo couldn't win the SEC" thing is a misnomer perpetuated on the long held perception that the ACC is weak and the SEC is the best.

I'm not convinced that he was seriously considering an offer, rather that his agent was leveraging for a big raise from FSU (which he got). I would hate it if he left, especially since the 2017 season is supposed to open with FSU vs. Alabama and we've been waiting six years now for a Saban vs. Fisher game, and I'd hate to see it happen as 'Bama vs. LSU instead

It's where it should be. Clemson beat UL H2H, has a tougher schedule.

Also, if Penn State is an underdog to just 7 other teams in the country, I'd eat my fucking shoe. I still think the Big 10 is gonna blow up Louisville's chances. Which sucks, I'm p sure UL would be favored against them all, save OSU. I want to see the Louisville Lamars vs The Fighting Sabans so bad.

Also, fucking LOL at the Oklahoma ranking. Loss to unranked Houston. Blew out by Ohio State at home. 0 Top 25 wins. Top ten team. West Virginia, one road loss, 0 top 25 wins, ranked 14th. Committee chair's justification was "tremendous offense, seven game win streak...".

Wish that logic would get applied to Louisville.

There were some Vegas odds putting UL's odds up against everyone else, and except for Ohio State (+2.5 vs them) and Alabama.. (Like an 11 point underdog?) -- they were favored in all of them.

I don't think UL should be behind Clemson. Yeah, UL lost h2h, but of their losses, UL lost on the road vs Clemson losing at home to an unranked team. Meh. I guess things will kinda sort themselves out, tho UL not having control of what happens to them really blows.
