The Yuna and Setzer 35's are my main reason to pull once on that banner. I just have to clear a few hard modes for gems in order to not be a leech during multiplayer. Kuja himself only has a short window of usefulness and once it's time for him to actually shine again his (next) banner will be up so one might as well ignore this banner and get the second banner.
That's the explanation i've heard at least.

I'm interested in Kuja, but I already have MLB Vaan and Prishe and a passable Squall and Cloud and they do enough damage right now for my roster. I might pull once in hopes of getting Setzer/Yuna, but I have MLB Eiko so Yuna isn't gonna be 100% useful to me. Setzer is who I'm really hoping for, but his weapons aren't actually that necessary for him and he's not going to be a monster until his awakening, at which point there should be more chances to draw for him... *shrug* It's a tough choice.

We're supposedly getting debuffed much more in the future (I'm sure we all hate those ahriman in the latest chapter that spam curse) so esuna is a tad more useful than you're imagining. That makes Yuna 35 is the big prize, Setzer has his niches, and Kuja will be dethroned almost immediately by EX weapons and awakenings until he gets his own awakening.

Too bad I already have Yuna's 15 MLB, and that's likely all I'll be able to pull lol. But that's also all you need for Esuna.

I spent 18 tickets on the Kuja banner and pulled Yuna 15 (powerstone) and Setzer 15 (now 1LB). Tried out the EX battle with MLB Eiko, Terra and Prishe and failed. It's quite tough, but definitely doable. Either Setzer or Yuna would be very useful here - Yuna obviously for cleansing and Setzer for freezing the brv of the adds. If I can't beat it with characters I already have decently geared, then I'll probably bank on pulling a Yuna 35 with gems.

I did the EX in two tries. Cleared with Prishe, Sazh, Papa. Friend Vaan. Ifrit summon.

It was hard, but doable. I couldn't get all the rewards in one run that's for sure.

I can't make a dent in the EX whatsoever. I use the same teams posted here and on Reddit (Prishe's or Papa, Sazh, Eiko) and I hit a brick wall the minute he summons adds because all he does is spam Putrid Breath and Stench EVERY FUCKING TURN! spent 5 hrs on this and best I got was 50%.

Give it some time, I'm hoping global co-op gets to the point that JP co-op is one day which is easy and chill as fuck.

Personally, I vastly prefer the token system over the score system. Don't think too hard about the "rooms" either. Just queue up in the default room if you don't wanna think too hard about it.

Plus, you can get double co-op tokens by using a treasure book.

Did a multi and got Yuna's 15 CP (power stone), Kuja's 15 and 2x Kuja 35!

Rob for the EX, which friend are you bringing and what's your summon timing? What worked best for me was having my friend Vaan summoned and buffed on the last trash wave. I then used all his skills and made sure my friend was gone before summoning. I think I summoned around 60%, which was right after the adds spawned. Then I was able to use the adds for brave breaks by breaking them with Spinning Attack. If you can save some of Sazh's buffs, it pushes off most of the bad effects from Putrid Breath.

I used Lightning/Squall since that's all anyone outside of BG puts up. I saw the double Vaan + Papa strat as I was going to bed, so I think I can do it now. Was doing the summon at adds before Stench and killing an add, but gonna do balls to wall strat to kill boss asap.

Did a pull on the Kuja banner. 3/11 Kuja and Yuna 35. 15 cp yuna. Both have served me well so far.
Kuja is an absolute beast for artifact farming. I spam Ultima 3x and the 10SP run is over. I'm actually looking forward to irvnie banner because of this since I can probably have them team up for ultra fast clear times when I have items active on harder tiers.
Yuna's 35 is also pretty great but other people seem to want to use their Yuna or not switch like I'm willing to do.

Finally cleared Kuja EX with Papa MLB 15, Sazh MLB 15/35, Eiko MLB 15/35, BG friend Vaan (don't remember who, but thanks!), 20 Ifrit. Had to reset 4x, once when I killed boss but eiko died and add overwhelmed blinded Vaan/Sazh. Got all rewards.

Also, fuck this co-op. It's hard for casuals and with the token system you can't speed it up by getting a high score or anything. It feels extremely slow to get tokens.

Ended up wanting everything on the banner after all and figure "oh well I can start saving for stuff after this one..." seems like that's how it always goes, lol.

3 multipulls and around 35 tickets netted me: Kuja 35, Kuja 15x2, Yuna 15x4 (or 5? can't stop pulling that damn thing), Setzer 15 x3 (MLB now), and on one of my last tickets, one singular shining Yuna 35 which is what I really wanted from this banner. Will throw a few more tickets trying to get Setzer 35 but overall I'm pretty happy.

Main reason I didn't want to pull on this banner is because I know my draw luck in general. I will pull multiples of everything I don't care about on any banner and almost never pull weapons for the character on the banner that I most want. Thought it would be better to save in that case, especially since I have more than enough magic DPS characters as it is, but it's hard to resist when you see people smashing with cool new stuff :D

Also I think people are being a little hard on this co-op. While it's true you can't manipulate it for score anymore, I did 10 bells overall with a double treasure book popped and managed to buy all the ticket rewards. That's 10 runs for about half the total rewards. I'm probably looking at 20 runs overall, which is just about in line with how many runs most score-based co-ops took to do.
